Job Description

The Engineering Design Checker is an integral part of the team, offering design guidance, ensuring quality assurance, reviewing and providing red lines of engineering drawings of fabrication drawings using knowledge and information provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in a team environment to analyze requirements from the customer and develop design solutions.
  • Review fabrication engineering drawings to ensure conformance standard and accuracy against scope of work.
  • Perform and/or review dimensional fit / tolerance analysis.
  • Produce/review other required design documentation.
  • Provide design engineers with redlined drawings
  • Inspects fabrication drawings for incorrect member sizes per final engineering drawings
  • Compares material sizes detailed on fabrication drawings to product’s availability & size parameters
  • Checks bill of materials on fabrication drawings to include standard items and correct packing quantity.
  • Participates in engineering review meetings
  • Maintains list of jobs completed within the engineering department and common errors for efficiency and performance improvement opportunities

Job Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or Certification of two (2) years training from a vocational training school with courses relevant to drafting or engineering.
  • Must have experience checking fabrication prints to include assembly of sub assemblies into main assemblies
  • Working and functional experience using drafting/modeling software (experience with Inventor/solid works a plus)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced engineering schedule and achieve timelines.
  • Proficient with MS office Products.
