What we need:
The CAD Design Associate, under minimal supervision is responsible for creating proposals, seaming diagrams and/or flooring layouts by working with the sales staff and internal departments to develop an overall installation plan that will be most beneficial to the customer as well as most profitable for Mohawk. This position works with all National Accounts, Strategic Account Managers, Sales Representatives, and RVP's, The POD team and Customer Service to ensure that the end-user/client is properly serviced according to contractual agreements and/or bid requirements and submitted plans.
What you'll do:
  • Work on projects and assignments individually, as well as part of a work team.
  • Create and edit proposals with accuracy with quick turn times using custom software.
  • Responsible for following instructions from management, sales and/or customers, from concept to completion in a timely manner, with minimal guidance.
  • Responsible for understanding and following manufacturing guidelines for product installations.
  • Generate accurate takeoff quantities for flooring products and accessories.
  • Use artistic skills and design principles to develop exclusive visuals for desired flooring products and prepare layouts for internal and external client approval.
  • Ability to present layout design concepts via phone, web and in-person in a polished professional manner.
  • Stay aware of current trends in flooring, while occasionally developing design and color schemes for specific customers and layouts.
  • Using knowledge gained through resources, develop fundamental knowledge of functional practice, policy, and day-to-day execution requirements.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

What you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 0-2 years' relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Expertise with AutoCAD is required, and Callidus flooring software is preferred.
  • Basic working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc. required.
  • Should have a valid passport and be willing to travel 1-2 times a year internationally to Asia when required.
