Job description

Title: Design Engineer – Foundry Tooling

Location: Hodges, SC (Onsite)
Duration: Permanent - FT | 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Design Engineer with strong foundry tooling and CAD experience to design and improve tooling for no-bake molding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design foundry tooling, patterns, and core boxes using Creo.
  • Develop new tooling and support RFQs/tool quotations.
  • Analyze and resolve casting defects and scrap issues.
  • Support re-gating, casting simulation, and tooling improvements.
  • Work with tool designers, pattern makers, engineers, suppliers, and shop-floor teams.
  • Create and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and machining requirements.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Strong foundry engineering/tooling experience
  • Creo/CAD modeling
  • Experience with pattern and core-box design
  • Knowledge of no-bake and/or cold-box molding
  • Casting defect analysis and resolution
  • Casting simulation experience; SolidCast preferred
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and machining drawings
  • Supplier/tooling coordination experience

Preferred:

  • CNC milling knowledge
  • Experience with complex tooling design

Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.

Important: Candidates without foundry or foundry tooling experience will not be considered.
