Design Associate Key Responsibilities:
  • Go out to clients homes and meet with them regarding their flooring project
  • Follow our Sales System using our tablet, laptop, and software (non-negotiable)
  • Act as the single point of contact to the customer for all types of flooring service requests
  • Coordinate installation time and communication schedule with Office Manager
  • Communicate customer needs/expectations to Install Manager to make jobs go smoothly
  • Ability to maintain customer relationships and develop key referral sources to generate ongoing business
  • Engage in on-going training/educational requirements (may involve travel at company expense)

WORK HOURS
Work hours are flexible and may change from day to day. Activities will include customer appointments, networking, training, internal meetings, local events, and other business-relatedactivities. Customer appointments last between 1-3 hours; evening and weekend appointments will be needed based on customer needs.
HOME SHOWS AND EVENTS
We participate in many Home Improvement Shows and other local events each year. Your attendance at these is essential to generate valuable leads and to answer questions from the general public about our product and services. Home shows generally begin at 10am and end at 8pm and run on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and will be split up between our various team members.
NETWORKING
We encourage joining networking groups to generate relationships and business for the company and will pay the corresponding fees. Examples of the groups include BNI, Building Industry Associations, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, etc. Sales generated from these groups and based on your networking will qualify for additional commission.
COMPANY PROVIDED ITEMS
We will provide you with the following:
Our Mobile Flooring Showroom will be stocked with over 3,000 flooring samples
o You will be responsible for keeping it clean, organized, and take care of the samples
o Gas and auto insurance will be paid by the company for the mobile showroom
Tablet for estimating the projects
Digital measuring device
VACATION
2 weeks paid vacation each year, which must be scheduled and approved in advance. The amount paid will be base salary plus any normal commissions being processed for that pay period
HOLIDAYS
We observe the following holidays; New Years Day, Good Friday, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day
COMPENSATION
You will be paid a base salary of $1,500.00 semi-monthly, which is annualized to $36,000.
In addition, you will be able to earn commission on all landed sales for the previous month.
COMMISSION ADJUSTMENTS
Should the scope of any sold job change (+/-) after the commission has been calculated and paid, that change will be reflected in the next available pay period
The base commission rate adjusts upwards by 3% if any of the following are achieved
o You generate the lead on the project sold
o You perform work for one of your previous customers
o You are requested by name on a referral appointment
GUARANTEED COMMISSIONS
You will be paid guaranteed commissions to help you ramp up and build your pipeline. You will earn either the commissions (listed above) or guaranteed commission, whichever is greater.
First FULL month: $2,000 in guaranteed commissions
Second & Third Full month: $1,500 in guaranteed commissions
Fourth Fully Month: $1,000 in guaranteed commissions
