About the Role A. Autiello Construction Co. is seeking a relationship-driven Business Development & Marketing Manager to help expand our pipeline of high-quality commercial, healthcare, academic, and industrial projects across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. This role combines proactive business development, client relationship management, proposal leadership, and brand marketing in a collaborative, high-performing environment. Ideal Candidate Background We are especially interested in candidates with a commercial product representative or capital equipment sales background who already maintain strong relationships with architects, engineers, facility managers, and hospital decision-makers. An existing, active network of A/E firms, owner representatives, and healthcare facilities contacts across New England and the Mid-Atlantic is a major advantage. Experience selling into or supporting healthcare, academic, or commercial construction projects is highly valued. Key Responsibilities Business Development & New Opportunity Generation Lead market research to identify addressable opportunities and prioritize high-potential projects Drive proactive outreach and cultivate new and existing client relationships Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline of qualified opportunities Attend industry conferences and seminars; arrange speaking engagements for senior leadership Engage in client entertainment and networking activities with potential and existing clients Client Relationship Management Serve as the primary point of contact for client engagement and relationship nurturing Coordinate client meetings, networking events, and follow-up activities to strengthen long-term partnerships Support client entertainment and business development initiatives Proposal & Pursuit Leadership Draft, edit, and produce high-quality proposals, RFQs, RFPs, qualifications packages, and presentations Develop compelling narratives, project descriptions, case studies, and interview materials Coordinate with internal teams (estimating, project management, safety, etc.) to deliver winning submissions Marketing & Brand Management Lead content creation for social media, LinkedIn, website updates, and marketing collateral Manage brand voice and visual consistency across all materials Support award submissions, thought leadership, event promotion, and overall firm visibility efforts Track marketing effectiveness and help shape the company's growth strategy Skills and Attributes Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working independently or as part of a small, high-performing team Curious, proactive problem-solver with a genuine interest in highly technical commercial construction, client relationships, and marketing Professional demeanor with the confidence to interact with senior leadership and clients Willingness to travel quarterly within the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions Sales Focus & Project Criteria Target Prospects & Clients: Architects/Engineers/Designers, Project Management Firms, Hospitals, Private Educational Institutions, Fortune 500 Companies, Banks/Credit Unions, Owner Representatives, Developers & Retailers Target Project Criteria: $3M – $20M (minimum $500K) located across New England and within a 75-mile radius of New York City Work Location Primary office: 125 Carlsbad St, Cranston, RI 02920 Hybrid / Remote work permitted Occasional travel required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Construction Management, or a related field preferred 4+ years of experience in business development, sales, marketing, or proposal management (AEC/construction industry experience strongly preferred) Proven ability to manage client relationships and contribute to winning new work Commercial product representative or capital equipment sales background with an existing network of architects, facility managers, and hospital decision-makers strongly preferred Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and CRM tools; InDesign/Photoshop experience a plus Valid driver's license and reliable transportation About A.
