JOB SUMMARY: The Landscape Design Assistant plays an important role in the Wright Outdoor Solutions Design-Build Process responsible for supporting the Landscape Team throughout all phases of the design process.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions:

  • Assist Landscape Designers with site analysis, field measurements, and inventory documentation.

  • Prepare accurate scaled base maps and support documents for design development.

  • Create and revise landscape plans, renderings, and technical drawings using CAD software.

  • Research plant materials, hardscape products, site furnishings, and construction materials.

  • Assist with plant selection and planting plans based on site conditions and design objectives.

  • Prepare project estimates, material takeoffs, and proposal documentation.

  • Develop client presentation materials, including PowerPoint presentations, graphics, photographs, and design exhibits.

  • Incorporate revisions based on client, designer, and team feedback.

  • Coordinate procurement of project samples and materials as directed.

  • Participate in client meetings and presentations in a supporting role.

  • Assist with project documentation and communication between design and construction teams.

  • Support project implementation by responding to information requests and updating design documents as needed.

  • Assist with marketing materials, portfolio updates, and other departmental initiatives.

  • Maintain organized project files and accurate project records.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA or Associates degree in Landscape Design and/or Horticulture or Landscape Architecture is preferred.

  • Experience in landscape design is preferred.

  • Possess knowledge of Iowa horticulture and construction practices.

  • Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, Dynacsape, UVision (or similar design programs) a plus

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license

  • Must possess some level of expertise in landscape construction methods and materials

  • Must be able to create and read blueprints
