Job description

Description:

We are currently accepting applications for an experienced Medical Assistant, with a background in Dermatology and/or Cosmetic Dermatology, to join our growing esthetics practice.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Registered Medical Assistant with at least 2 years of experience in dermatology
  • Experience assisting with surgical procedures
  • Prepare for and assist with treatments by the Physician, RN and esthetician
  • Provide after-care instructions and follow-up calls
  • Assist with all clinic activities including answering phones, booking appointments and answering questions about products and services offered in the clinic
  • Responsible for cleaning, sanitizing and turning over rooms in-between patients as well as laundering/folding of clinic towels, linens, etc.
  • Autoclave instruments and maintain proper maintenance logs
  • Maintain biopsy and treatment logs
  • Provide quotes for services
  • Collect payments for products and services
  • Provide Visia skin analysis, obtain FotoFinder photos prior to treatments/consult with the doctor
  • Charting with EZDerm
  • Book appointments in Aquity, Millennium and EZderm software systems
  • Record payments in Millennium software system
  • Prepare and fulfill online and phone orders for skincare products
  • Promote and sell applicable skin care products, services and treatments during client interactions; both on the phone and in the clinic
  • Possess a congenial diplomacy and maintain a consistently high standard of one’s appearance and professionalism that coincides with the high standard the Erickson Dermatology brand
  • Adhere to HIPPA and OSHA standards
  • Other duties as requested

Phone Experience

Ability to confidently explain treatments and payment policies of the practice including obtaining a deposit at time of new consult booking. Ability to book an inbound lead is required. Additionally, all employees must be hospitable and able to make personal connections over the phone so that when a client walks through our door for the first time, they immediately know they made the best choice by selecting Erickson Dermatology.

Emotional Intelligence

Our staff is skilled at effectively minimizing client stress/anxiety related to procedures/treatments as well as confidently providing reassurances that the recommended treatment(s) are customized to address the client’s expressed needs/desired results. As such, all clinic staff must be intimately familiar with every treatment, product and service offered at Erickson Dermatology and be able to explain in detail the treatment expectations, benefits and cost.

Interpersonal Savvy

Needs to effectively manage and control client flow and be adept at problem-solving. Must be organized and able to manage multiple tasks. Ability to figure out things in advance, make sound decisions/recommendations and conduct oneself professionally while juggling several responsibilities. Ability to communicate effectively with the doctor, clients and other staff members in a respectful and professional manner at all times is a must.

Technical Skills:

Experience and comfort with using technology to effectively perform the duties of this position is necessary. Our practice utilizes several software systems and a working knowledge of each is required

  • EZDerm, Meevo systems, Boulevard, Acuity, Microsoft Office

Training on each of the above systems can be provided, but the successful candidate must be able to learn efficiently and use technology confidently. Additionally, working knowledge of various social media platforms and the ability to create content/posts approved by the practice is highly desirable.

This can be a full-time position (based on 35-40 hours per week) or a part-time position. Business hours are typically Monday through Saturday; employee’s schedule will depend on clinic needs. Pay is commensurate with experience level.
