SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Medical Assistant for our dermatology clinic that will provide comprehensive patient care and clinic support assisting with medical and cosmetic dermatology procedures, patient education and ensuring efficient clinic operations while maintaining a high standard of patient-centered care.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Provider during daily medical procedures such as excisions, biopsies, ED&Cs
  • Perform patient assessments, including taking medical histories, documenting concerns, and preparing patients for exams or treatments.
  • Accurately document patient information, treatments, and progress in electronic medical records (EMR) in the room as a scribe
  • Call patients back with test results including lab work and biopsies as instructed by the provider
  • Call patients back in response to their questions they call in and document appropriately in the EMR after discussing case/question with provider
  • Perform opening and closing duties, to include (but not limit) setting up rooms for biopsies, filling liquid nitrogen cannisters, checking inventory, ensuring cleanliness of patient exam rooms and space, drawing up lidocaine and Kenalog injections
  • Present patient cases to the provider prior to entering the exam room
  • Provide wound care, bandaging and post-procedure instructions.
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for procedures
  • Manage medical supplies and inventory, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and medications
  • Assisting with scheduling follow-ups and coordinating patient care with other healthcare providers if needed.
  • Maintain positive attitude during a fast-paced schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, clinic protocols and patient confidentiality standards (HIPPA)
Requirements:

Job Requirements

  • Active Medical Assistant certification in the state of Nebraska in good standing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in clinical procedures and medical terminology
  • Previous experience in dermatology, aesthetics or outpatient clinical setting is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with dermatologic procedures and EMR systems is a plus
