Strategic Solutions Unlimited, Inc. (SSU) is a defense industry-based company, that is veteran owned and operated by military-minded professionals with decades of special operations and intelligence experience, focused on enabling the warfighter, or servicing government organizations and the commercial sector. Domestically or internationally, SSU provides a large business experience as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).

SSU is currently recruiting for a Deputy Strategic Growth Director to join our team and work in our corporate office in Fayetteville, N.C.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Deputy Strategic Growth Director serves as the operational counterpart to the Strategic Growth Director, ensuring day-to-day execution of strategic initiatives, project oversight, administrative coordination, customer engagement, and regional operations. The Deputy is fully capable of assuming the Director's responsibilities when required and serves as the continuity leader for the Tampa regional office. This position works across business development, operations, project management, and customer success to ensure commitments are executed efficiently while maintaining SSU's culture of servant leadership, accountability, and excellence.

  • Support execution of all strategic growth initiatives and regional operations.
  • Coordinate day-to-day project execution, schedules, risks, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Provide administrative oversight including reporting, meeting coordination, action-item tracking, and documentation.
  • Serve as deputy to the Strategic Growth Director and assume leadership during absences.
  • Maintain relationships with customers, partners, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Support proposal development, capture activities, and contract transition.
  • Travel as required to customer sites, project locations, and conferences.
  • Coordinate across operations, construction, logistics, finance, and executive leadership.
  • Mentor project teams while leading by example at every organizational level.
  • Support establishment and growth of SSU's Tampa regional presence.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8-15 years progressively responsible leadership in defense, government, construction, engineering, or related industries.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Resides in or willing to relocate to the Tampa Bay region.
  • Willing to travel up to 40% as required.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated servant leadership; equally comfortable leading executive meetings or supporting hands-on operational tasks.
