We focus our solutions on mobility-related projects that serve the needs of our communities within the municipal, transit, transportation, airport, and port sectors.
With a staff of diversified, licensed professionals, our philosophy stems from the idea that successful project execution starts with people.
We are seeking a Deputy Project Manager to support the Resident Engineer in day-to-day leadership of the CMC team on a light rail extension program in the Pacific Northwest. The Deputy PM focuses on the operational coordination of subconsultants, technical disciplines, and construction logistics needed to keep the program on schedule.
Responsibilities

  • Acts as the Resident Engineer's deputy, stepping in on client coordination and program leadership as needed.
  • Coordinates construction logistics across active work areas, including sequencing, access, and interface management between Track, Systems, and civil scopes.
  • Reviews daily and weekly progress reports from discipline leads and consolidates findings for the Resident Engineer.
  • Supports budget tracking, forecasting, and schedule analysis at the operational level.
  • Assists in the review of contractor submittals, RFIs, and change order requests, routing technical items to the appropriate discipline lead.
  • Coordinates field inspection staffing and assignments across the Track and Systems scopes.
  • Supports resolution of field-level conflicts and disputes, elevating unresolved items to the Resident Engineer.
  • Assists in preparation of monthly progress reports, schedule updates, and executive briefing materials.
  • Helps enforce compliance with the Design Criteria Manual, Construction Manual, and all applicable specifications across daily field operations.
  • Supports safety program implementation and monitors field compliance across the consultant team.

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; Washington PE preferred, out-of-state licenses may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Approximately 10+ years of construction management experience on heavy rail or light rail transit programs, with prior experience in an assistant/deputy leadership role.
  • Strong coordination experience across multi-disciplinary construction teams, including Track and Systems interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of FTA-funded project requirements and public agency contract administration.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $140,000 to $180,000 per year (depending on qualifications)
