Located in Cleveland, Ohio, the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) has engaged Krauthamer & Associates to conduct a national recruitment for a diligent, innovative, and intelligent professional to serve as the agency’s Deputy General Manager – Engineering & Project Management.

GCRTA is dedicated to its customers and community with a strong commitment to providing Greater Cleveland with safe, sustainable, and reliable transportation. GCRTA offers light and heavy rail, fixed route bus, paratransit, vanpools, and HealthLine, a state-of-the‑art Bus Rapid Transit route connecting East Cleveland with downtown, totaling 45 million annual rides across its services. In addition to being a trusted community partner, GCRTA is focused on updating and innovating its current services through the latest technology to not only meet but exceed the needs of the community.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, Chief Executive Officer, the Deputy General Manager – Engineering & Project Management will provide executive leadership and strategic direction for GCRTA's Engineering & Project Management Division. They will be overseeing the planning, design, funding, engineering, construction, and delivery of the Authority's Capital Improvement Program and other major infrastructure initiatives. This position directs organizational strategy, departmental operations, financial performance, capital funding, and project execution to ensure safe, efficient, fiscally responsible, and compliant delivery of engineering programs and services. This role serves as a principal advisor to the General Manager, Chief Executive Officer while representing GCRTA before the Board of Trustees, governmental agencies, funding partners, and other stakeholders to advance the Authority’s long‑term strategic and capital investment objectives.

The ideal candidate will be a visionary engineering and infrastructure leader with a proven record of directing large, complex capital improvement programs from planning and design through construction and delivery in a public transportation environment. This person will bring strong knowledge of capital funding strategies, including the identification, securing, and administration of federal, state, regional, and discretionary funding sources. The ideal candidate will also be adept at managing substantial operating and capital budgets, overseeing contracts, providing procurement support, and allocating resources, all while maintaining fiscal accountability and regulatory compliance. This person will be an effective communicator and relationship builder, capable of representing GCRTA to the Board of Trustees, elected officials, regulatory agencies, consultants, and community stakeholders. In addition, the ideal candidate will be skilled at developing and mentoring engineering leadership talent to advance the Authority's long‑term strategic and capital investment objectives.
