Job description

Purpose: The Product Analyst reports to the Deposits Product Manager and is responsible for supporting deposit product and pricing initiatives that advance our enterprise goals and roadmap. This includes development and regular delivery of reporting, testing for product changes and launches, project management support for the rollout of new products, and analysis of product performance and profitability. They will be involved in supporting the execution of the overall business strategy, including production expectations, performance, profitability and compliance.

 A product analyst is a multi-faceted position requiring critical thinking, a financial services background, strong communication, and cross functional collaboration skills. The Product Analyst will play an important role in ensuring the products offered are successfully delivered.

Essential Functions:

  • Support development of new products, modification of existing products, and integrated project launch plans via testing, reporting, and extensive cross-functional coordination with teams including sales, marketing, finance, compliance, operations and IT. This includes understanding aspects of the product lines, including but not limited to, compliance, regulations, operations, systems, sales, marketing, delivery and technology.
  • Work with Product Managers to ensure product initiatives achieve Five Star Bank’s deposit and loan growth plan and meet annual profitability targets via development of accurate and timely analyses.
  • Review and report on the financial impact related to new product development, pricing strategies, new program launches and customer segmentation. Support the development of product activity Dashboards. Perform analytical product summaries using historical and competitive data on and for all loan, deposit and fee-based products.
  • Provide the statistical support necessary to support the development and design of new products, reports, and new marketing programs (i.e. relationship management materials, segmentation packaging, etc.) with the goal of improving EPS.   
  • Maximize product profitability and, by extension, EPS, by supporting the maintenance of all fee-based services, loan, and deposit product suites that are competitive and profitable to Five Star Bank.
  • Assists in the development of a competitive marketing database including the development, maintenance, and analysis of competitive rates (i.e. fee-based services, Deposits, Loans) and marketing programs.
  • Participate in forecasting, performance measurement and monitoring, and overall client experience and impacts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice

Job Related Qualifications:

Required:

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Data, Business, Accounting, or related field
  • Prior Experience: 1+ years of general banking experience
  • Licenses or Accreditation: N/A

Competencies

  • Analytical ability to interpret data and present it in a meaningful and easily understood form.  Work extensively with spreadsheets to analyze financial data, predict future costs, revenue and profitability with support from internal finance team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to support fellow team members to achieve their goals.
  • Excellent project management skills.  Experience managing business initiatives across groups.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
  • Knowledge of bank products and services, including digital banking features and technologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with ability to learn and utilize new and existing banking software applications.
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff and share ideas to achieve company-wide results.  A drive to succeed.
  • Collaboration to ensure our products offer high quality customer service and be a continuous team player to improve internal and external experiences.
