Position Summary

The Director of Treasury Management Sales is responsible for leading the bank's Treasury Management sales strategy, performance, and team execution across all markets. This leadership role drives growth in treasury management fee income, deposit acquisition, client retention, and overall treasury product penetration. The position partners closely with our Commercial and Business Banking organization, Product Management, Implementation, Operations, and Technology teams to deliver comprehensive treasury solutions that deepen client relationships and support the bank's strategic growth objectives.

The Director of Treasury Management Sales develops and executes sales strategies, oversees sales talent management, establishes performance standards, and ensures consistent execution of treasury management sales processes throughout the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute the bank's Treasury Management sales strategy and annual business plan.

  • Lead Treasury Management Officers and sales support teams to achieve production goals and revenue targets.

  • Establish sales coverage model, sales objectives, production goals, and client acquisition strategies.

  • Monitor and drive performance through scorecards, metrics, and regular business reviews.

  • Identify opportunities to expand treasury services within existing client relationships and new prospect segments.

  • Partner with market executives and line-of-business leaders to align treasury goals with broader commercial banking strategies.

Revenue Growth & Relationship Expansion

  • Drive growth in treasury management fee income, operating deposit balances, and treasury product utilization.

  • Increase treasury management penetration across commercial, middle market, and business banking client segments.

  • Partner with Relationship Managers on large treasury opportunities and key client relationships.

  • Serve as executive sponsor for strategic treasury management prospects and high-value client relationships.

  • Lead treasury sales initiatives and campaigns designed to accelerate growth.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing Treasury Management sales professionals.

  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures.

  • Provide ongoing sales coaching, call planning assistance, and opportunity management guidance.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and create development plans for team members.

  • Build succession plans and leadership development pipelines within the treasury sales function.

Sales Process & Performance Management

  • Implement and maintain a disciplined sales management process.

  • Coordinate with product and other internal partners to design sales-enablement strategies.

  • Utilize sales reporting tools to monitor pipeline activity and forecast results.

  • Ensure consistent use of treasury sales tools and proposal processes.

  • Track and report key performance indicators, including:

    • Fee income production

    • Deposit growth

    • Product penetration

    • Sales pipeline activity

    • Win rates

    • Client retention

Partnership & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Commercial Banking, Business Banking, and Small Business leadership to identify treasury opportunities.

  • Partner with Treasury Management Product, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams to ensure successful product delivery and client onboarding.

  • Provide treasury expertise to internal stakeholders and executive leadership.

  • Participate in strategic planning and enterprise growth initiatives.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Ensure treasury sales activities comply with all applicable regulatory requirements and bank policies.

  • Maintain strong risk management practices throughout the sales process.

  • Support AML, BSA, fraud prevention, and operational risk management initiatives.

  • Promote a culture of compliance, ethics, and sound business practices.

  • Strong knowledge of treasury management products and services.

Preferred

  • MBA or advanced business degree.

  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation.

  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing treasury sales professionals.

  • Experience leading treasury sales across multiple geographic markets.

  • Experience within a publicly traded regional banking organization.
