Job description

Position Overview:
As a Deposit Operations Support Specialist at 802 Credit Union, you play a critical role in supporting exceptional member service by providing operational support for deposit products and services. Your primary responsibilities will include IRA maintenance, dormant account monitoring and reporting, bad address maintenance, safe deposit box maintenance and overdraft protection (ODP) administration. This role ensures accurate processing, regulatory compliance, and reliable support for internal teams while contributing to operational efficiency and risk management. This role may also help support our debit card back-end reporting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Interacting directly with membership regarding IRA maintenance, dormant accounts or abandoned property. Greeting and assisting members in person.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve department workflow processes to support operational efficiency. Work closely with all departments to ensure strong cross-functional collaboration and accountability across every stage of the workflow.
  • Periodic (daily, weekly, monthly, annual) tracking and reporting for IRA, and dormant or abandoned property.
  • Collaborate with branch staff regarding bad address and safe deposit box maintenance as needed.
  • Assist in training front line staff in areas of branch operations to deepen their education and knowledge.
  • Identify, document, and escalate potential risks, errors or unusual activity. Support audits and exams.

The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong commitment to accuracy, accountability, and collaboration. You will bring exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to supporting deposit operations, ensuring accuracy in transaction processing, compliance with banking regulations, and efficient handling of account and member requests.
Specifically, we are looking for someone who:
  • Adheres to all applicable CU policies and procedures regarding security and compliance in relation to sensitive membership information.
  • Consistently completes time-sensitive tasks, such as IRA distribution and reporting, and dormant and abandoned property reporting efficiently.
  • Provides prompt professional and accurate assistance and support to branches, member support center, internal teams, and members.
Qualifications:
  • One to three years of experience in banking, credit union operations or financial services support preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to explain complex or technical information in a clear, calm and professional manner.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional departments such as retail banking, operations, compliance, risk management, IT and finance.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to use computer systems and perform basic office tasks.
