Job description

The Physical Security Analyst is responsible for assisting in the development, oversight, and implementation of the Bank's physical security program. This position works alongside the Bank's Corporate Physical Security Officer to assist with the program and works closely with other departments, divisions, and branches under the direction of the Corporate Physical Security Officer.

Along with the key functions listed below, this position will be expected to uphold the value that WaFd Bank places on simply being kind when working alongside colleagues and servicing our clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Key Job Functions:

  • Assists in development, oversight, and implementation of the Bank's physical security program, assists law enforcement agencies, internal and external auditors' inquiries, write and review security related policies and procedures, respond to legal requests for information, makes recommendations to senior management when appropriate and submits reports as required by the Bank Protection Act.
  • Directly supports issues related to robberies, burglaries, bomb threats, accidents and other security or safety related issues. Communicates with retail bank colleagues, back-office support departments, senior management, and law enforcement, as appropriate.
  • Monitors branch security activities and ensures security and surveillance systems are operational.
  • Assists retail bank colleagues with issues related to alarm and surveillance systems, and security related questions.
  • Work in collaboration with Facilities, Fraud, Legal, and Deposit Operations departments to support projects and solve security, fraud, and safety related concerns, including assisting with requests for video surveillance by these departments.
  • Assist with review and providing feedback to L&D for all physical security related training courses.
  • Assist in the management of security related vendors, requesting service for security related systems, and reviewing invoices prior to submitting for payment.
  • Adhere to bank policies and procedures designed to comply with Federal regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and OFAC regulations. As required, accurate preparation of Currency Transaction Reports, Suspicious Activity Reports, and other recordkeeping requirements.
  • Complete and pass all assigned eLearning courses and certifications as required.
  • Avoid all real or perceived conflicts of interest and always maintain privacy and confidentiality.Perform other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Preferred Associates or Bachelors degree in business administration, risk management or equivilent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 2 year of experience in branch banking and thorough knowledge of bank operations and deposits.
  • Preferred 1-2 years of physical security experience in a branch or operations environment.
  • Strong desire to develop career in physical security and bank operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective customer service skills, ability to manage multiple priorities independently, and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm and use effective judgement during sensitive or stressful situations.
  • Excellent judgement and strong problem solving skills.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications (e.g. Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.
  • Maintains a professional, respectful, and composed approach with internal and external stakeholders
