Their role often involves collaborating with various departments, managing logistics, and identifying potential risks to prevent delays or issues during deployment. Deployment Planning Analysts are vital in industries such as IT, logistics, defense, and manufacturing.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a deployment planning analyst?

Job description

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Planning Analytics team is responsible for deeply understanding our internal planning tooling and process stack and the data that powers them. They will build resources that transform data into ad hoc reporting, dashboards, web applications, and automated workflows to drive measurable improvements to business velocity in the planning space. This team will partner across Anduril's production and CorpTech orgs to establish visibility and accelerate decision making.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Planning Analyst, you will work with our business-wide Analytics Engineering team to ensure their SQL data pipelines are modeled correctly for planning reporting. You will use Palantir's Foundry platform and Databricks as your central resources for conducting ad-hoc analysis for planning teams, as well as producing web applications, dashboards, and automated workflows that write back to our database via Python/Typescript actions. You will gain a deep understanding of the different planning interfaces and craft tools that drive insights and workflows that enable real cost and time savings business impacts. You are onboard with the goal of building out a world-class business analytics layer with truly novel solutions to planning problems.

  • Use SQL to transform raw ERP data extractions into structured datasets within a centralized GitHub repository
  • Use Palantir's Foundry platform to generate dashboards and automated workflows backed by Python/Typescript code repositories
  • Work with planning leaders to define key performance metrics and implement systems for tracking over time
  • Eliminate repetitious processes with programmatic automation in Python
  • Manage cross-functional projects with clear and concise communication on timelines
  • Assess and incorporate external data sources and software that could bring valuable insight for planners
  • Educate business users with training/documentation and drive user adoption with a continual feedback loop
  • Embed AI into workflows via Palantir's Foundry platform to help summarize and drive signal from noise
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or related technical field
  • 2+ years of experience in analytics, operations engineering, data engineering, or software engineering roles, preferably in complex hardware technology industries
  • Expertise in SQL with demonstrated ability to write complex queries
  • Experience with data visualization and pipeline modeling using React-based application development
  • Proficiency with Databricks and Palantir Foundry platforms
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced formulas, live database connections, and VBA
  • Proficient in at least two programming language such as Python or Typescript for analysis, data visualization, and automation; experience building React applications or frontend data pipelines is a plus
  • Expertise in manufacturing operations concepts such as demand, supply, and material planning, bill of materials (BOM) management, work and purchase order management, and physical inventory management
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and extracting/analyzing data from these platforms
  • Working knowledge of Git/GitHub for version control
  • Experience with APIs and parsing JSON/XML responses into structured datasets
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • You have strong operational instincts and a track record of owning complex, ambiguous planning problems from start to finish.
  • You think strategically and execute tactically-you're just as comfortable designing a planning framework as you are diving into the details of a late supplier PO.
  • You bring a data-driven mindset and can turn analytics into action; you know how to interpret demand signals, build plans, and communicate clearly.
  • You're systems fluent, with experience working across ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle), and can partner effectively with technical teams to improve tooling.
  • You lead with cross-functional empathy-understanding the needs of engineering, product, deployment, and finance to align priorities and deliver business outcomes.
  • You're comfortable with ambiguity and energized by building structure in environments that are scaling fast.
  • You are high ownership, low ego, and value results over credit.
  • You anticipate friction before it happens and proactively work to prevent issues rather than react to them.
