Job description

Registered Nurse

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to work in our Surgery Center.

The Surgery Center OR Registered Nurse provides circulating and/or scrub services in the operating room during surgical procedures and assists the surgical team as needed in any other capacity, according to established procedures. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating intraoperative patient care, and maintaining compliance with all policies, procedures, and safety standards. Preferred prior experience working in the perioperative setting. BLS and ACLS required for OR RNs.

The Surgery Center Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse provides safe, high-quality patient care in the perioperative area (Pre-op and PACU) from admission to discharge. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge, and maintaining compliance with all policies, procedures, and safety standards. Preferred prior experience working in the perioperative or critical care setting. BLS, ACLS, and PALS required for Pre-op/PACU RNs.

The shift will be determined by each hiring manager. The pay rate will be determined in accordance with the labor agreement.

Qualifications:

  • AS/Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Nursing license in West Virginia required
  • Must maintains required CEU's for licensure
  • Certification Specialty preferred
  • CPR required
  • CNOR preferred
  • 1 year of position-related experience preferred

The kind of position-related experience includes: Previous experience in the perioperative setting preferred. Position requires completion of yearly competencies for practice and mandatory education activities required for orientation. Basic computer skills including typing/keyboarding/using a mouse. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Excel recommended.
