Our Ward Dental Lab Brighton, MI location is hiring for the following positions:
  • Lead Crown & Bridge Technician
  • Ceramist

Job Description
Responsibilities:
Lead Crown & Bridge Technician:
  • Ability to wax and finish PFM frames, including large bridges, focusing on margins and fit
  • Full contour gold crowns, implant crowns, restoration, and model work
  • Perform case planning and design, waxing, casting, die trimming, and finishing
  • Case QC and minor case touch-up; On-time case completion and delivery - troubleshoot case logistics
  • Ability to read prescriptions or specifications from clients/doctors and examine dental models or impressions to determine the design of the product to be fabricated
  • Distribute daily workload. Establish daily production needs and assist in the production as needed to facilitate the team process schedule.
  • Control all in-process laboratory quality assurance standards. Provide training to techs as needed to meet desired standards.

Ceramist:
  • Responsible for producing the esthetics that our customers have come to expect
  • Responsible for facial cutback layering of porcelain, contouring, and glazing of high end anterior and posterior zirconia and e.max restorations
  • Proficiency in full contour crown and bridge contouring and stain and glaze
  • Ability to produce artistic, esthetic, and consistent, high-quality porcelain and staining work
  • Ability to do final quality inspection of crown and bridge cases with efficiency
  • Ability to match and create custom shades and meet tight deadlines

CAD/CAM Scanning Technician:
  • Travel to local dentist offices to assist chairside in capturing high-accuracy 3D digital images of a patient's mouth using an intraoral scanner
  • Utilize Magic Touch software and other computer programs to download digital scans and prescriptions and create work orders to be sent for production
  • Perform Data Entry functions for incoming and outgoing digital files
  • Perform other CAD/CAM functions in lab as directed
  • Provide excellent customer service, internal and external, via email, phone and in person

Denture Technician:
  • Acrylic finishing: complete denture/removable partial denture
  • Denture partial and Implant denture set-ups/waxing/finishing and overall knowledge of over-denture and attachments
  • Repairs/Relines
  • Knowledge of working with and processing hybrids. This opportunity will allow you to work with the digital denture process and specialists performing the all-on-4 technique

Model Technician:
  • Read and follow directions on prescription. Be able to understand a doctors' preferences
  • Follow in-process laboratory Quality Assurance standards
  • Pour, trim, section, and articulate stone models from patients' impressions
  • Operate and maintain a variety of dental laboratory tools and equipment such as: trimmers, lathes, saw, articulators, and cleaning devices
  • Maintain dental tools and equipment with cleanliness and care
  • Follow daily schedule and production goals

All:
  • Ability to multi-task and self-motivated
  • Operate a variety of dental laboratory tools and equipment
  • Maintain clean equipment and work area
  • All other duties as assigned or as otherwise required

Qualifications
Lead Crown & Bridge Technician:
  • 5+ years minimum experience in dental restoration
  • Ceramic skills a plus
  • CDT preferred
  • Start-to-finish proficiency in Crown & Bridge
  • Requires flexibility and adaptability to meet laboratory demands
  • Outstanding analytical, problem solving and organizational abilities
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience preferred

Ceramist:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in porcelain layering, contouring, and finishing of ceramic restorations
  • Ability to utilize magnification goggles for extended periods of time
  • Team player is a must with willingness to learn new responsibilities

CAD/CAM Scanning Technician:
  • Previous working experience as a Dental Assistant or lab technician
  • Knowledge in computer programs (word, excel, outlook, photoshop, and/or audio applications), as well as Magic Touch system preferred
  • High attention to detail - evaluating scans to ensure all necessary areas of the mouth are captured clearly, making rescans if needed
  • 3Shape EXOCAD experience preferred
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have ability to travel locally to dental offices

Denture Technician:
  • Ability to utilize magnification goggles for extended periods of time
  • Team player is a must with a willingness to learn new responsibilities
  • Ability to stand for extended hours and lift weight up to 20lbs.
  • Advanced die trimming experience is a plus.

Model Technician:
  • Advanced die trimming experience is a plus
  • Milling center environment, computer-based workstation. Benchwork with high speed and low-speed handpieces
  • Ability to stand for extended hours and lift weight up to 20lbs

All:
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination
  • Knowledge and previous work experience with dental lab products, materials, terminology, and techniques
  • High level of attention to detail with exceptional quality standards
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
