Job Summary: The PPSC Dental Center is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest equipment and simulation technology to be the state leader in modern dental hygiene and dental assisting education. The full-time faculty, in collaboration with the Dental Center Director and other faculty, will be integral in the success of the program. Consistent with the Dental Hygiene Program values of community built on learning, mutual respect, and diversity, the candidate should demonstrate strong skills in team building and collaboration across the dental and health sciences disciplines. The ideal candidate will be a welcoming and enthusiastic individual focused on student success by incorporating an innovative teaching approach. Minimum Qualifications: โข Graduate of a CODA-accredited dental hygiene program. โข Bachelorโs degree in dental hygiene or related field. โข Current Colorado Dental Hygiene license, or current RDH license in another state and eligibility to acquire Colorado RDH license. โข Current Colorado Local Anesthesia Permit or eligibility to acquire the permit. โข Diode Laser certification through an accredited organization or the ability to obtain the certificate. โข Minimum of two full-time equivalent years of clinical dental hygiene experience. โข Current CPR certification โข Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Colorado Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teaching Credential โข Must possess strong proficiency in various dental related technologies and software programs or the ability and willingness to train in these areas. Preferred Qualifications: โข Master's degree in a related field. โข 1+ year(s) clinical and/or didactic teaching experience in dental hygiene. โข Experience in curriculum design and mapping and/or instructional design. โข Documented background in current educational methodology concepts in higher education. Course Materials, Preparation, and Assessmentโข Develops, maintains, and updates course syllabi in accordance with College, State, and CODA requirements. โข Collaborates with the Dental Center Director to develop and maintain laboratory, preclinical, and clinical schedules. โข Reviews and updates course materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with current professional standards. โข Clearly communicates course objectives, expectations, grading criteria, and evaluation methods to students in writing. โข Utilizes appropriate assessment strategies aligned with course content and learning outcomes. โข Incorporates supplemental instructional resources and technology to support student learning. โข Participates in department and college-level assessment of student learning outcomes as required. Student Support, Advising, and Instructional Management โข Maintains scheduled office hours and provides regular academic support to students. โข Maintains accurate, timely, and confidential student records in accordance with College policies and procedures. โข Meets all assigned classes and instructional responsibilities as scheduled. โข Submits required reports, documentation, and instructional materials in a timely manner. โข Attends required department, divisional, and calibration meetings. Regular Faculty work under the direction of their respective Associate Dean/Division Dean and are responsible for meeting all scheduled classes/labs/clinics and providing instruction in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the College and the Department Chair's approved course outline. Regular Faculty are also responsible for using teaching methods and media designed to reach students of varying educational and experiential backgrounds to allow each student the opportunity to master the objectives of the course.Regular Faculty are required to serve a provisional period from the date of employment until the completion of employment under three consecutive full year regular contracts. This position may require working in virtual, weekend, evening, or various campus locations. Successful candidate must be willing to teach concurrent enrollment both on PPSC campuses and in local area high schools.
