Dental Billing Specialist – Heartwell Dental
Long Beach, CA | Full-Time

Heartwell Dental is looking for an experienced Dental Billing Specialist to join our growing team. We are a modern, patient-focused office that values teamwork, positivity, efficiency, and excellent patient care. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, organized, and experienced in handling dental insurance and billing processes.

We already have a strong clinical and front office team in place and are looking for the right person to help strengthen our systems and keep accounts running smoothly.

Responsibilities
  • Submit and follow up on dental insurance claims
  • Verify insurance benefits and breakdowns
  • Handle insurance aging and outstanding claims
  • Post insurance and patient payments accurately
  • Review EOBs and resolve claim discrepancies
  • Communicate with insurance companies regarding denials and appeals
  • Coordinate with front office team regarding patient balances and treatment estimates
  • Help maintain accurate patient accounts and financial records
  • Assist with payment plans and collections when needed
  • Work closely with the doctor and team to improve office systems and efficiency
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of dental billing experience preferred
  • Experience with PPO insurance billing and claim follow-up
  • Knowledge of dental codes and insurance terminology
  • Experience with Open Dental preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
  • Reliable, professional, and detail-focused
Schedule
  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
