Position Summary

As a Dental Claims Associate, you'll help members navigate their dental benefits by analyzing claims, making benefit decisions, serving as a trusted resource for members and providers and delivering exceptional member service while meeting productivity and quality standards.

The work schedule is 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the positioniseligible for NRECA's hybrid schedule whichallows flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per/week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and adjudicate dental claims according to plan provisions and company guidelines.

  • Research, investigate, and resolve claim-related issues and discrepancies.

  • Communicate with members and providers regarding coverage, eligibility, and claim determinations.

  • Respond to inquiries through phone and written correspondence while providing excellent customer service.

  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and productivity standards are consistently met.

  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Utilize analytical thinking and attention to detail to make sound benefit determinations.

QualificationsEducation, Experience, and Certifications (required and preferred)

Required Education: High school diploma or GED

Preferred Education: Associate degree in a business-related field

Required Experience:

  • Up to 12 months experience in claims processing working with health/dental insurance plans or in a healthcare/dental billing office.

  • Telephone customer service experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Dental office experience with exposure to dental billing and/or handling the billing of dental claims, and/or verifying dental benefits with the insurance company.

  • Knowledge of dental codes, desired

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated by prior work experience)
  • Knowledge of medical insurance plans and healthcare benefits.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and member service orientation.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to report to the office when required.

Essential Physical Requirements

Salary Range: $49,000 - $58,000

Final Compensation determined by individual qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
