Job description

COMPANY OVERVIEW: A leading provider of environmental construction, demolition and abatement, asset recovery, specialty transportation, industrial services, and waste management services.

POSITION: Estimator

COMPENSATION: Competitive salary + DOE

BENEFITS:

LOCATION: Houston, Texas with 100% travel
SUMMARY: The Estimator will manage the preparation of full estimates for complex industrial demolition, environmental remediation and construction, industrial services, and decommissioning projects. Estimating work will vary and may include creating time and materials, cost reimbursable estimates, lump sum, and unit pricing estimates for projects. This position is responsible for RFP tracking, planning, sourcing of vendors/suppliers, and evaluating project performance according to budgets and timelines.

DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze Requests for Proposals (RFP’s), plans, and amendments to determine the scope of work and present to team via Go-No-Go process.
  • Review construction documents, understand the scope of work required for the bid, and break it down into definable tasks.
  • Prepare and carefully review take-offs from related construction documents.
  • Calculate and prepare cost analysis for all materials, labor and manpower, heavy equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs incurred related to American Integrated projects.
  • Develop and maintain resource information related to products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
  • Develop estimates ranging from Rough Order Magnitude (ROM), budgetary, time and material, cost reimbursable, lump sum, and unit pricing estimates for complex industrial demolition, environmental remediation and construction, industrial services, and decommissioning projects.
  • Work closely with project teams and leadership to promote the understanding of the scope of work, changes, potential Requests for Information, and adjustments to cost estimates prior to proposal submission to formulate and ensure accurate estimates.
  • Liaze with the project team to assist in scope understanding and effective project handoff.
  • Attends pre-bid meetings project start up, performs proposal preparations, assists in change order management, material and subcontractor buy out, and change order negotiations.
  • Establishes and maintains effective client relations to achieve active cooperation, and additional work opportunities.
  • This position will require minimal travel to attend client meetings, project site walks related to new earthwork projects

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 10 years or more of construction project estimating experience related to environmental remediation, demolition, soil or earthwork project work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Environmental Science, or equivalent construction estimating experience.
  • Previous operations or project management experience with strong estimating skills related to earthwork a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Excel and Teams, Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience using MS Project, Primavera (P6) and/or AutoCAD would be a plus.
