Key responsibilities

  • Plan and execute voter contact activities such as canvassing and phonebanking to reach voters and meet contact goals.

  • Recruit prospective volunteers, make direct asks, and grow the volunteer team.

  • Develop volunteer leaders by turning first-time volunteers into repeat volunteers and identifying those capable of recruiting and hosting events.

Job description

Florida families are paying more for housing, insurance, groceries, and gas than ever before. Access to a quality education has been gutted while Republicans play politics with our schools. It's imperative that we elect leaders who will fight to right the course.

Florida is at an inflection point. After years of being written off nationally, Florida Democrats are running ahead of the national environment. We've flipped 40 seats from red to blue since 2024, and we have a real opening to win up and down the ballot this November. We're not wasting it.

We're hiring Field Organizers all over the state to build the volunteer teams that we need to win.

You're a Great Fit If

  • You're dedicated to building a strong Democratic Party and electing Democrats up and down the ballot. You're committed to fighting for a better future for Florida families and championing our Party's values.
  • You're tenacious and hardworking. You can relentlessly pursue a goal even in the face of challenges.
  • You're a compelling communicator. You can confidently speak to a voter, volunteer, or community leader and motivate them to take action.
  • You develop leadership in others. You're good at spotting potential in the people around you and cultivating it.
  • You're results-oriented and always looking for ways to improve. You track your progress carefully, notice when things are off track, and learn from your successes and mistakes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run voter contact operations. Plan and execute canvassing and phonebanking events to reach voters across your county, hitting weekly contact goals that grow as Election Day approaches.
  • Recruit volunteers. Reach out to prospective volunteers, make direct individual asks, and consistently grow your team week over week.
  • Develop volunteer leaders. Turn first-time volunteers into repeat volunteers and identify those with the potential to recruit and host events on their own, expanding your reach beyond what you can do alone.
  • Root your program in local party infrastructure. Work directly within county party structures to build volunteer teams that stay engaged after November, creating lasting capacity for the Florida Democratic Party.
  • Track and report results accurately and on time. Keep careful records of voter contacts, volunteer recruitment, and event outcomes. Flag when you're falling behind, propose solutions, and learn from what's working and what isn't.

This is an election position lasting through November, 2026. Compensation for the position will be $4,800/month plus health insurance benefits.

Must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder, per FEC regulations

The Florida Democratic Party is committed to diversity among its staff, and recognizes that its continued success requires the highest commitment to obtaining and retaining a diverse staff that provides the best quality services to supporters and constituents.
