Job Summary
The University of Utah Campus Store is seeking a Product Manager, Licensed Goods, who is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the licensed merchandise category through structured assortment planning, product development coordination, and brand compliance. This role ensures that licensed products align with institutional brand standards, approved vendor programs, and category strategies established by leadership.
This position emphasizes category stewardship, coordination, and execution, rather than independent buying or transactional purchasing under the direction of the Senior Merchandising Manager.

Responsibilities
• Enforce brand and licensing compliance, achieving 100% adherence to trademark and licensing requirements with zero unauthorized product releases.
• Manage vendor coordination and performance, including:
o Maintaining response times within 2 business days
o Resolving product or delivery issues within agreed SLA timelines
o Supporting on-time delivery rates of ≥95%
• Execute seasonal launches, ensuring:
o All licensed products are set up in ERP prior to launch deadlines
o Product readiness (imagery, descriptions, compliance approvals) is ≥98% complete at go-live
• Monitor category performance weekly, including sales, sell-through, and inventory levels, and:
o Identify and communicate at least 2 actionable insights or risks per reporting cycle, including YOY trends, top-performing and underperforming vendors/products
o Recommend adjustments aligned with category strategy, including corrective action plans to improve underperforming items and capitalize on growth opportunities
• Partner with inventory planning, contributing to forecasts that achieve:
o Target in-stock rates (e.g., ≥92%)
o Reduced overstock or aged inventory within defined thresholds
• Provide product content inputs to marketing/ecommerce teams, ensuring:
o 100% of new licensed products include complete and accurate product information
o Content is delivered by agreed deadlines
• Maintain accurate product data and lifecycle tracking in ERP, with:
o ≥99% data accuracy
o Timely updates across product setup, status changes, and discontinuations
• Maintain licensing and vendor documentation, ensuring:
o All required approvals and records are complete and audit-ready
o Documentation is updated within 48 hours of changes
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working with licensed products, branded merchandise, or regulated product categories
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple timelines and coordinate across teams.
• Experience working within structured approval or compliance-driven environments preferred.
• Familiarity with merchandising systems or ERP platforms (NetSuite preferred).
