Job description

Job Purpose:
The basic functions of the RoadMechanic are to repair and or maintaincustomer and Delta owned equipment at the customer location.
Essential Duties andResponsibilities:
- Troubleshootand repair gas, propane, diesel and electric powered lift trucks and relatedequipment following industry best practice and/or manufacturers servicedocumentation
- Interactwith customers to relay the problem and the solution
- Writework orders clearly and accurately
- Maintaininventory of the assigned warehouse
- Maintaina clean and safe work environment
- Whennecessary, order and follow up on needed parts
- Logcorrect travel time and work time to the work order
- Followup daily on all work in process
- Followall customer and Delta Material Handling, Inc. safety rules and regulations
- Drivein a safe and courteous manner following all traffic laws
Other Duties andResponsibilities:
- Deliver parts/components, etc.
- Workin the shop if needed.
- Anyand all other duties as assigned by management.
Qualification Requirements:
- Highschool diploma or the equivalent.
- One (1) to two (2) years' experience as a maintenancetechnician, apprentice or the equivalent.
- Mustdemonstrate a high degree of communication and organizational skills to includethe ability to apply logic and constructive thinking to solve problems.
- Mustbe able to use and understand measuring tools such as: a ruler or tape measure,micrometer, calipers, feeler gauges, depth gauges, multi-meter, ohmmeter,pressure gauges and compression gauges etc.
- Mustbe able to perform mathematical calculations, including fractions, decimals andpercentages.
- Provideeffective oral and written communications to customers, management and vendors.
- An individual must be able to perform each essentialduty satisfactorily and work within the confines of the established or quoted times for therepairs of the equipment

Qualification Requirements:
- Mustbe able to push, pull, lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, sit and walk for extendedperiods.
- Must be able to climb a ladder and work from heights of4 feet or less.
