Job description


The TechOps Supply Chain Warranty team is seeking an experienced professional to join as a Specialist - Warranty Supply Chain Management, responsible for the execution of warranty, guarantee, and entitlement claim project management.

Important attributes for this role include being a self-starter, accountable to self and driving accountability from suppliers. The Specialist must work collaboratively with frequent interaction with internal stakeholders and understanding of their constraints; be relationship-driven, solution-oriented, strategic, good problem solver; and be able to work with minimal supervision and superior prioritization skills to enable complete ownership of projects. A basic understanding of aviation warranty processes, contracts, and metrics is highly preferred.

Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):

  • Manages 80+ warranty and guarantee claims across multiple Suppliers from creation to completion with foundational purpose of using claims to drive Supplier performance and accountability
  • Analyzes and interprets complex data sets and attends meetings to create claims, solicits internal stakeholder feedback to ensure full contractual entitlement capture, uses correct external process for claim filing with each Supplier
  • Files quarterly guarantee claims (Late Spares, Late Repairs, etc) with assigned Suppliers with superior understanding of contract administration and strategies; strategically prioritizes and leverages Delta/ Supplier relationship in regards to claim negotiations  
  • Builds and fosters relationships with Delta Engineering departments, Materials groups, and production shops across Delta TechOps to identify part failures and reliability issues
  • Becomes adept at warranty strategy to allow for innovative and insightful approach to claim negotiations to maximize claim value reconciliation within a constrained work environment
  • Develops strong internal (Delta) relationships with Sourcing Managers in Supply Chain to understand and execute on claiming contract entitlements
  • Develops strong external (Supplier and Aircraft Manufacturer) relationships to enhance ability to negotiate both contractual and concessionary claim settlements
  • Proactively collaborates with and supports Repair Warranty; supports developing improvements to the efficiency, productivity, and performance of internal Delta warranty processes
  • Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
