  • Design and implement systems using Modular Open Systems Approach principles to support interoperability, scalability, and lifecycle affordability
  • Architect, develop, and integrate application programming interfaces and open-architecture solutions across software components and systems
  • Define, document, implement, and support modern software interfaces, standards, and protocols across development and integration activities
  • Develop, integrate, or support software systems for U.S. Army environments, incorporating Army requirements, standards, and operational needs into technical delivery
  • Build and maintain software solutions using Java, Python, JavaScript Object Notation, YAML, and Bill of Materials data structures and artifacts to support maintainable system architectures

In this role, the Senior Engineering Management Specialist supports cross-functional coordination, execution tracking, and continuous improvement across engineering initiatives.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a similar field
  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering, systems integration, or application development
  • 2+ years of experience architecting, developing, and integrating Application Programming Interfaces and open-architecture solutions
  • 1+ years of experience designing and implementing systems using Modular Open Systems Approach principles to support interoperability, scalability, and lifecycle affordability
  • 1+ years of experience defining, documenting, implementing, and supporting software interfaces, standards, and protocols
  • Active Department of Defense Secret security clearance 
  • Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:

  • Experience developing software using Java and Python
  • Experience working with JavaScript Object Notation, YAML Ain't Markup Language, and Bill of Materials artifacts
  • Experience using Git or GitLab for version control and codebase management
  • Experience using Apache Airflow to build, schedule, monitor, or troubleshoot workflows and data pipelines
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services Simple Storage Service, data lake solutions, or cloud-native application deployment

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $119,000 to $198,400.
