Job description


Job Overview
As a Delivery Services Coordinator, you will support the Delivery and Furniture Preparation departments through a variety of operational and administrative functions. Responsibilities include creating and managing driver routes, processing and verifying commission-based payroll for drivers, completing required documentation, and managing check in for work cell phones, iPads, and delivery truck keys.
Additional duties include collaborating with multiple departments to process merchandise additions and cancellations on delivery routes. You will also coordinate with Inventory Control and Delivery Return to Stock departments to resolve any inventory discrepancies that may occur.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
  • Monitor and update the Truck Manifest (TKM) and delivery Commission forms.
  • Identifying and reading reports, tickets, and labels.
  • Process add-ons, cancels, and special delivery orders.
  • Requires recognizing, identifying, and using merchandise and necessary reports.
  • Assist with inventorying tablets, fuel cards, truck keys, and any other items as requested.
  • Create driver routes based off forecasting, maps, weather, dollar amount, etc.
  • Run delivery reports as directed by management.
  • Coordinate and work effectively with multiple departments to continuously improve processes, maximize efficiency, and exceed customer service expectations.
  • Abide by all company policies and procedures.
  • All other duties assigned by the Delivery Manager as directed.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. This position is supervised directly by the Delivery Manager and/or Delivery Manager Assistant.
Job Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Delivery Services Coordinator or similar role preferred.
  • Hands on experience with STORIS and Dispatch Track preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) laws preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain a congenial calm communication style and the ability to diffuse and clarify the needs of drivers to achieve clear solutions.
  • Ability to analyze, model and interpret data.
  • Have strong independent follow up skills.
  • Excellent organizational skill and the ability to demonstrate attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on AFW's success.
  • Strategic planning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to lead team meetings and motivate others.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Basic computer skills required. Ability to regularly use computers for ordering, communication, documentation, scheduling, maintenance of organizational content on shared drives.

Education & Experience
High School Diploma/GED equivalent required. Two-year college or university program preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience accepted in lieu of degree.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 to 50 pounds at times.
  • Requires the ability to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.
  • Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours daily.
  • Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
  • Able to work in various environments with different lighting, loud exterior noise, and flooring.
