Job description

STS Technical Services is hiring an experienced Helicopter Pilot (VFR / NVG) to support air medical operations based in Rushville, Indiana. This role places pilots at the center of critical care response, flying time sensitive missions that directly impact patient outcomes and survival.
This position is built for mission driven pilots who thrive in demanding environments and take pride in disciplined operations, strong safety culture, and community focused service. With off duty housing and a location bonus available, this role offers both purpose and long term stability.
Position Overview
The Helicopter Pilot supports air medical transport missions under CAMTS guidelines. Pilots conduct day and night missions and are responsible for the safe, compliant execution of all assigned flights while maintaining strict adherence to company procedures and safety management systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform line pilot duties in accordance with the General Operations Manual
  • Conduct safe and efficient day and night air medical missions
  • Assist with patient and medical equipment loading and unloading as required
  • Support Safety Management System initiatives and company safety campaigns
  • Participate in required community outreach activities
  • Deliver professional and courteous service to internal and external customers

Minimum Qualifications
  • Commercial Helicopter Rating
  • Instrument Helicopter Rating
  • First Class Medical Certificate
  • Meet CAMTS minimum flight time requirements:
  • 2,000 total flight hours
  • 1,500 helicopter hours
  • 1,000 hours PIC helicopter
  • 500 turbine helicopter hours
  • 100 hours unaided night operations or
  • 50 hours unaided night and 100 hours NVG
  • NVG qualified or eligible
  • Body weight not to exceed 235 pounds
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated internal and external customer service skills

Pre Employment Requirements
  • Ability to pass a pre placement physical and functional capacity exam including lifting up to 100 pounds
  • Drug screening and background check

Schedule & Location Requirements
  • Seven days on and seven days off rotation
  • Schedule rotation may be required
  • Off duty housing provided at base

Additional Notes
  • Aircraft transition training may require a one year service commitment
  • External recruiting may occur concurrently with internal postings
  • Participation in community outreach programs is required
