Job description

Delivery Operations Coordinator

K&M Last Mile LLC is an Amazon Delivery Service Partner based in Orlando, Florida. Our team of trained Delivery Driver Associates ensures timely deliveries. Driven by integrity and performance, we deliver more than packages—we deliver trust.

KMLM is seeking a dependable, organized, and proactive Delivery Operations Coordinator to help lead our daily last-mile delivery operation.

This is much more than a traditional dispatch position. The Delivery Operations Coordinator supports the entire operational day—from driver attendance and morning stand-up through route execution, fleet coordination, rescue management, return-to-station processing, and end-of-day vehicle inspections.

The right candidate will be comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced environment, communicating clearly with drivers and leadership, resolving problems as they happen, and maintaining accountability throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

Morning Operations

  • Verify driver attendance, identify absences or late arrivals, and promptly communicate staffing concerns.
  • Help prepare and conduct the daily morning stand-up meeting.
  • Communicate safety expectations, operational priorities, route-specific concerns, and important company updates.
  • Coordinate driver and route assignments during load-out.
  • Make adjustments when routes, vehicles, or staffing change unexpectedly.
  • Help ensure drivers leave the station prepared, informed, and on time.

Route Execution and Driver Support

  • Monitor route progress throughout the day.
  • Identify drivers or routes that are falling behind and take early corrective action.
  • Manage route escalations and communicate significant risks to leadership.
  • Maintain consistent, professional communication with drivers while they are on the road.
  • Assist drivers with approved parking-meter payments and related on-route support.
  • Help resolve delivery barriers, access problems, vehicle concerns, and other operational issues.
  • Document important incidents, escalations, and follow-up needs.

Rescue and Sweeper Coordination

  • Manage the daily sweeper or rescue driver.
  • Identify where assistance is needed based on route progress, package volume, location, and remaining delivery time.
  • Assign and redirect rescues to protect route completion and reduce unnecessary return-to-station packages.
  • Confirm that package transfers and rescue activity are completed accurately and communicated clearly.

Fleet Coordination

  • Participate in daily fleet coordination and communicate vehicle availability or safety concerns.
  • Match available vehicles with routes and operational needs.
  • Track vehicle issues reported by drivers.
  • Escalate mechanical, safety, cleanliness, damage, or maintenance concerns to the appropriate person.
  • At the end of the night, inspect returning vehicles with the assistance of a fleet team member.
  • Ensure vehicle condition, damage, fuel or charging status, cleanliness, and required equipment are properly checked and documented.

End-of-Day Operations

  • Coordinate driver return-to-station activity.
  • Account for drivers, vehicles, equipment, keys, and returned packages.
  • Monitor and properly process packages that drivers were unable to deliver.
  • Confirm that returned packages are identified, organized, and handled according to station requirements.
  • Review significant route issues, rescue activity, vehicle concerns, and delivery exceptions.
  • Ensure the operation is properly closed out and communicate unresolved issues to leadership.
Qualifications
  • Experience in delivery operations, transportation, logistics, fleet coordination, dispatch, or a related fast-paced environment is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to monitor several drivers, routes, and operational priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong attendance, punctuality, dependability, and personal accountability.
  • Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, messaging platforms, route-monitoring systems, and operational reports.
  • Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors and inspect vehicles in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and changing schedules based on operational needs.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, if driving company vehicles or conducting rescues is required.
  • Previous leadership or team-coordination experience is a plus.
What Success Looks Like

A successful Delivery Operations Coordinator:

  • Starts the day with accurate staffing and route assignments.
  • Keeps load-out organized and on schedule.
  • Identifies route risks before they become route failures.
  • Communicates respectfully while holding drivers accountable.
  • Uses rescues and the sweeper effectively.
  • Maintains accurate visibility into drivers, vehicles, and returned packages.
  • Supports safe, compliant, and efficient fleet operations.
  • Completes a thorough and organized end-of-day closeout.
  • Provides leadership with clear information, not surprises.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a calm, resourceful operator who pays attention to details without losing sight of the overall delivery operation. This person takes ownership, communicates early, follows through on assignments, and understands that supporting drivers also means maintaining standards and accountability.

This is a hands-on operational position for someone who wants to play an important role in the daily success of KMLM's drivers, fleet, customers, and delivery commitments.

To apply, please submit your résumé and a brief explanation of your experience coordinating people, routes, vehicles, or time-sensitive operations.

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will be considered for employment regardless of age, national origin, race, color, disability, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation.
