Job Description Summary

The Project Delivery Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful preparation of and transition of projects to the execution team(s) at Baer Manufacturing. This role involves working with project and production teams, ensuring adherence to timelines, schedules, and development of execution strategies. The position will collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to assist in project success and foster long-term relationships. This position reports to the Vice President of Manufacturing in Hudson, Wisconsin.

Job Description:

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Development
    • Lead and manage a team of Project Managers, and Assistant Project Managers
    • Manage project interactions with shared service teams including Virtual Design in Construction, Advanced Construction Planning, Engineering, Purchasing, and Logistics
    • Execute strategic initiatives while driving operational excellence at Baer Manufacturing
    • Develop and implement business plans and strategies for project delivery at Baer Manufacturing
    • Foster leadership development and build high-performing teams, including conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback to team members and project teams
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages professional growth
    • Create and implement training and development strategies to enhance employee performance and long-term departmental success
  • Business Development Interactions:
    • Align with BD on newly awarded projects for complete planning /preparedness of large-scale complex projects
    • Coordinate with business development team to fully understand and implement the use of support groups
    • Provide seamless transition of project-specific details to the execution teams
  • Project Management Interactions:
    • Assist Operations Managers and Project Teams in developing execution strategies ensuring they meet client specifications and company standards.
    • Develop and implement project scheduling strategies, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Assist in client communications and interactions, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project goals, schedules and deliverables
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners.
    • Address project team concerns and provide communication and support throughout the project lifecycle
  • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Oversee the department's performance, measure and monitor profitability and cost management and drive financial results that positively impact the profitability of our projects
    • Assist in establishing detailed project budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost control
    • Collaborate with support teams to optimize resource utilization and planning
  • Quality and Safety Assurance:
    • Ensure all projects comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols
    • Implement quality control measures and conduct regular audits to maintain high standards
    • Coordinate with safety officers to promote a culture of safety and compliance
  • Strategic Planning and Innovation:
    • Contribute to the development of strategic plans and initiatives to drive business growth
    • Lead organizational change initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and innovation in project delivery
    • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance project outcomes

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the electrical contracting or construction industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and the coordination of workforce and resources
  • Experience in driving accountability for financial and operational effectiveness, integrating and aligning efforts across departments, monitoring results, and tackling problems directly
  • Relevant certifications in electrical work or safety management are a plus
