The University of South Alabama Health System helps people lead longer, better lives through its excellence in education, research and medical care. With more than 5,500 employees, USA's health network includes USA Health University Hospital, USA Health Children's and Women's Hospital, USA Mitchell Cancer Institute, USA Physicians Group, USA Health Care Authority, and the USA College of Medicine. Each year, our team of 601 faculty and physicians, 289 residents and fellows, 165 advanced practitioners, and 1,340 nurses handle some 556,000 physician encounters. The USA Health system delivers 2,400 babies a year, more than any other regional hospital, and treats patients through some 72,000 emergency room visits annually. University Hospital is the region's only Level I trauma center.

The Department of Internal Medicine, University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, Alabama is seeking a full-time board eligible/board certified Endocrinologist. Applicants with credentials to support the rank of assistant, associate or full professor will be considered. The Division of Endocrinology focuses on specialty care of patients with endocrine system diseases and disorders. Our current practice is comprised of four endocrinologists and one advanced practice provider. The combined efforts of our providers and staff are recognized by the ADA Education Recognition Program.
We seek applicants with an understanding of the medical, educational, clinical, and administrative issues for internal medicine residents and 1st-4th year medical students at a small medical school. Providers will assist with inpatient endocrine care management (both independently and with residents) and outpatient clinical activity. Providers may be asked to assist with inpatient general internal medicine teaching services at our hospital as well. Successful applicants will assist with the residency program needs and quality improvement programs. There are expectations for career advancement through the academic promotions process. Currently, we are unable to support VISA needs.
