We are now seeking a Regional General Manager Bag-in-Box North America (Complex GM) to lead and develop our regional manufacturing footprint, comprising three strategic sites: Anderson (USA), Mississauga (Canada), and Tijuana (Mexico).
The successful candidate will operate as a regional business leader, responsible for driving performance, alignment, and growth across multiple sites and markets, while building a strong, scalable organization for the future. This includes:
  • Leading a multi-site manufacturing network
  • Managing regional P&L performance
  • Building organizational capability across locations
  • Driving standardization, efficiency, and growth

The role requires strong balance between local execution excellence with regional strategic coherence in a dynamic and competitive environment.
The role reports directly to the CEO and is a member of the Divisional Executive Committee of the Bag-in-Box Cluster.
How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock:
  • Regional Leadership:

Lead and develop a multi-site manufacturing network across three plants in USA, Canada and Mexico. Coach and align Plant Managers to deliver consistent performance, strong culture and clear accountability across the region.
  • P&L and Performance:
    Own the regional P&L, driving EBITDA growth through disciplined cost management, productivity, and performance optimization. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and ensure transparency on performance across sites.
  • Strategy and Growth:
    Define and execute the North America strategy for Bag-in-Box, driving market growth and new business opportunities in close collaboration with Sales and New Markets teams.
  • Operational Excellence:
    Drive operational excellence across all sites, ensuring best-in-class performance in safety, quality, service, and cost. Leverage scale by standardizing processes and sharing best practices across the network.
  • Talent and Culture:
    Build a high-performing, values-driven organization. Attract, develop, and retain top talent, while strengthening leadership capability and succession across the region.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership:
    Partner with key functions and represent the region internally and externally, contributing to divisional strategy and decision-making.

What You Need to Succeed:
  • Has significant experience (over 10 years) in general management with full P&L ownership
  • Demonstrates proven success in leading multiple manufacturing sites or business units (packaging or related sectors preferred)
  • Has a track record in driving operational excellence and transformation
  • Is comfortable managing cross-border multi-cultural teams and complex stakeholder environments
  • Combines strategic thinking with strong execution capabilities
