Job description

Job Title: Route Delivery Driver Trainee
Location: Knoxville, TN
Employment Type: Full-Time
Shift: Monday–Friday | Start Time: 5:30 a.m. until route completion | 40–50 hours per week
Reports To: A.S.R. Manager

Position Summary:
We are currently hiring a full-time Route Delivery Driver Trainee to support our delivery operations and prepare for advancement into an A.S.R. Driver role. This hands-on training position is ideal for individuals with strong communication skills, a professional demeanor, and a desire to grow within a well-established company.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Ride along with an A.S.R. Driver to deliver products to designated accounts
  • Unload stock and assist in merchandising at customer locations
  • Learn to operate handheld invoicing systems and reconcile delivery routes daily
  • Maintain a professional and courteous manner with customers and staff
  • Ensure a safe and clean driving record is upheld at all times
  • Lift and move products weighing between 22–160 lbs.

Benefits & Perks:

  • Pay Range as a Trainee:  $19.50 to $23.00 
  • Upon promotion to your own dedicated route, your annual salary will increase to $70,000–$85,000
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan:  Cherokee contributes 8% of your salary automatically—no employee match required.  Company contributions are discretionary.
  • Optional employee contributions are welcome
  • Investment portfolio has a historical average return of 7% 

Health Insurance:

  • Provided through BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee
  • 95% of individual coverage premium paid by the company
  • Bi-weekly employee-only premium: $18.50

Paid Time Off (PTO):

  • 6+ days prorated during your first year, depending on start date
  • 15 PTO days after 1 year
  • 20 PTO days after 3 years
  • 25 PTO days after 10 years
  • 30 PTO days after 25 years
