Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Delivery Driver to join our lumber yard team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of building materials to our customers and upholding the highest standards of customer service. This is a hands-on position that plays a vital role in the day-to-day success of our operations.
Department: Delivery / Yard Operations
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Yard Manager
License Required: Valid Driver’s License
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
•       Operate all vehicles and equipment safely at all times, adhering to company safety standards.
•       Maintain a current Driver's License as required.
•       Complete daily equipment pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
•       Comply with all Balduzzi’s company policies and established guidelines.
Delivery & Loading Operations
•       Organize, secure, and properly load materials onto the truck prior to departure.
•       Assist forklift operators during the loading process to ensure accuracy and safety.
•       Check all orders for accuracy before leaving the yard.
•       Assist with picking and packaging loads as necessary.
•       Deliver and unload materials to customers in a safe, efficient, and satisfactory manner.
•       Record all merchandise returned by truck and assist in unloading materials returned for credit.
Customer Service
•       Provide excellent customer service during every interaction at delivery locations.
•       Relay messages and feedback sent by customers while on the job to the appropriate personnel.
Team & Facility Support
•       Participate in and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.
•       Assist supervisors and fellow employees across work areas as assigned.
•       Assist in maintaining good housekeeping standards in the yard and warehouse.
•       Assist in organization yard and warehouse.
•       Maintain cleanliness of the assigned delivery truck at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements
•       Valid driver’s license must be maintained.
•       Clean driving record in compliance with company and DOT standards.
•       Ability to safely operate a forklift (Company will train).
•       Ability to lift, carry, and unload heavy (100+lbs) building materials.
•       Excellent time management and organizational skills.
•       Strong customer service and communication skills.
•       Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•       Prior experience in lumber yard, building materials, or delivery driving preferred.
Work Environment
This position involves outdoor and indoor work in varied weather conditions. The driver will regularly lift and move heavy materials and operate company vehicles and forklifts.
