About This Position

***Must have open availability to work: 5:00am - 2:00pm AND 10:00am - 7:00pm (this includes some weekends and holidays)***

The Food Service Delivery Driver/Food Service Supervisor will be responsible for but not limited to: Driving a company vehicle (Box Truck) for an established route on the facility grounds. They will assist in the loading, unloading, and delivering goods to routed locations.  

There are also duties in the kitchen that will require: Supervising inmates, ensuring recipes are being followed, checking food temp, checking inventory, sanitizing along with other kitchen duties as needed. 

This position is located inside of a jail/correctional facility. 

Hybrid position Food Service Worker/Driver

  • Must be able to drive a box truck (26 ft) / must have at least 6 solid months of experience driving a box truck (26 ft)
  • Must be able to back into a loading dock
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to load and unload a box truck (push/lift)
  • Will have to climb into the box truck
  • Must be able to handle a lift gate
  • Unload containers, push carts, etc. up to 300 lbs
  • Have kitchen supervisory skills – as the individual will then monitor food service and assembly inside the facility

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities 

  • Learning the delivery area. 
  • Checking orders for quality and accuracy. 
  • Following proper delivery procedures. 
  • Assist with food preparation, serving, and kitchen maintenance, cleaning, and sanitizing as needed. 
  • Assist with receiving food and supply deliveries from vendors and restocking. 
  • Transfer supplies and equipment by hand or with cart as identified by supervisor to the proper location. 
  • Gather supplies required for each site as detailed on production sheets and order guides. 
  • Load, Unload, and deliver products and orders in a timely manner. 
  • Report any necessary maintenance or repairs needed on the company vehicle to the manager. 
  • Responsible for maintaining and keeping the vehicle clean 
  • This role includes physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift when not driving. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

  • A valid state driver’s license for assigned vehicles is required.
