Job description

 Out of the Woods, located in Layton, Utah, is a woodworking and cabinetry company built on craftsmanship, quality, and pride in doing things right. We are looking for a Delivery Driver to join our Cabinet Shop team. If you enjoy being on the road, take pride in delivering quality products with exceptional customer service, and are willing to jump in and support production when needed, we'd love to hear from you.

Pay: $16.00-$20.00/hour DOE

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 6:00 AM-3:30 PM; Friday 6:00 AM-11:00 AM

What You'll DoDelivery Responsibilities
  • Load cabinets and related materials safely into company delivery vehicles, ensuring all items are properly secured for transport.
  • Use delivery checklists to verify all cabinets, hardware, and miscellaneous parts are loaded before departure.
  • Safely operate a company delivery truck while following all traffic laws and company driving policies.
  • Deliver cabinets to customer locations and unload materials carefully and professionally.
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service during deliveries.
  • Return the delivery vehicle to the shop after completing scheduled deliveries.
  • Perform daily pre-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
  • Complete required vehicle inspection and maintenance documentation.
  • Maintain delivery equipment and ensure vehicles remain clean and in good working condition.
  • Notify management immediately of any equipment issues, vehicle concerns, accidents, or observed safety hazards.
Cabinet Shop Support
  • Assist with cabinet assembly during slower delivery periods by installing drawer slides, accessories, cabinet doors, drawer boxes, and drawer fronts.
  • Set up and operate woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment to complete production tasks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, measurements, and work orders.
  • Follow all quality control standards and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Support the Cabinet Shop team with additional duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to meet company vehicle insurance eligibility requirements.
  • Previous delivery driving, warehouse, material handling, or cabinet manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely load, secure, transport, and unload cabinets and related materials.
  • Ability to perform daily vehicle inspections and accurately complete required delivery and vehicle documentation.
  • Ability to follow delivery routes, schedules, checklists, and client instructions.
  • Experience operating hand tools and power tools required; experience operating woodworking or shop machinery preferred.
  • Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, measurements, work orders, and delivery documents.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to protecting products from damage during loading, transportation, and delivery.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal safety and work instructions.
  • Ability to work independently while driving and delivering, as well as collaboratively with the warehouse and assembly teams.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Willingness to assist with cabinet assembly and cross-train in other areas of the shop.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Work is performed in a woodworking shop, warehouse, and at customer delivery locations.
  • Typical workday includes completing two to four deliveries.
  • Regular standing for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequent repetitive use of hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Regular lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, grasping, carrying, and moving cabinets and materials.
  • Frequent loading and unloading of cabinets from delivery vehicles.
  • Regular reading of labels, measuring devices, delivery paperwork, and work orders.
  • Exposure to wood dust, production noise, and varying outdoor weather conditions during deliveries.
  • Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection, hearing protection, and closed-toe shoes.
