Responsibilities: 

  • Lead projects effectively and efficiently  
  • Allocate general and daily responsibilities to apprentices, machine repairman, and other foreman 
  • Train and develop apprentices and machine repairman  
  • Understanding design layouts and blueprints  
  • Keep the job site clean and well-organized  
  • Assist with coordination of materials, labor, and equipment  
  • Ensure attention to detail and follow safety standards  
  • Communicate with supervisor, estimator, PMs, and customers on the status of projects  
  • Financial awareness- seeking opportunities to optimize financial costs and investments while working on projects  
  • Monitor, and report daily work progress through written summaries and job site pictures   

Requirements: 

  • Job layout and processes for job completion  
  • Inspect mechanical or industrial equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear 
  • Able to disassemble and repair stamping presses  
  • Able to perform and delegate as required piping repairs – lube system repairs, thread pipe, tubing and steam fitting work 
  • Able to verify run-out on spindles and shafts  
  • Knowledge of bearing installation  
  • Previse measurement of thickness, diameter, length, and width of machine components for installation, repair and quality control  
  • Align, level and anchor machinery  
  • Independently responsible for quality control  
  • Select rigging components and develop rigging procedures for general load handling activities and delegate, if necessary  
  • Attach rigging to a load based upon a pre-planned rigging method or delegate support as required 
  • Estimate the weight and center-of-gravity of a load or delegate support as required  
  • Identify suitable rigging points for the load to be handled or delegate support as required  
  • Select the rated rigging components based on its anticipated tension or delegate support as required  
  • Analyze and understand the effects of angles on rigging components or delegate support as required 
  • Understand proper procedures for load handling equipment dynamics and the associated hazards  
  • Perform the positioning of chain fall, hoist, blocks, rope, jacks, chains, and rigging or delegate support as required  
  • Able to perform inspection of cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, slings, and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved or delegate support as required  
  • Rigger 2 certified & qualified  
  • Torch cutting  
  • Blueprint reading  
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic schematic reading

  • Able to perform inspection of cables, ropes, pull

                                                            • Precision measuring equipment (ID/OD micrometers, calipers, dial indicators)  
                                                            • Overhead crane certified & qualified (NCCER/NCCCO ) 
                                                            • Material handling equipment (I.E. Skates, power dolly’s, jack & slides – Preferred)  
                                                            • Operation of equipment (Lathe, mill, saw, drill press, etc.)  
                                                            • Laser alignment (Preferred)  
                                                            • CAD Software (SolidWorks, AutoDesk – Preferred)  
                                                            • Microsoft Suite (Preferred)
