POSITION OPENING: Defensive Line Football Coach - Inspire and Empower Young Athletes! 
POSITION:                   DEFENSIVE LINE FOOTBALL COACH
LOCATION:                  AVONDALE HIGH SCHOOL
REPORTS TO:             ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
DATE NEEDED:          ASAP
HOURS:                       10-20 HOURS PER WEEK
JOB GOAL: To provide instruction of high school athletes in the fundamental skills and strategy of defensive line football and also instill moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline and self-confidence. The coach will work closely with the Head Coach to implement defensive schemes, teach proper techniques, foster student-athlete development, and promote a positive team culture.
WHAT WE NEED:











  1. Experience Coaching defensive line
  2. Experience or plan of building a K-12 football program
  3. Knowledge/experience scheduling practices and off season workouts
  4. Teach techniques and fundamentals of sport
  5. Be able to demonstrate all skills necessary for the sport
  6. Be knowledgeable about the rules and regulations of the sport
  7. Assume the responsibility for constant care of equipment and facilities being used
  8. Conduct structured practices that stay within the confines of the specified times at the Athletic Department
  9. Be an example of good character and sportsmanship to team at all times
  10. Conduct fundraisers to provide money for team supplies and needs


WHAT YOU NEED:
1. Works cooperatively with administrators, students, parents, and community.
2. Coach and develop varsity defensive linemen in all aspects of defensive line play. Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to support development.
3. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the court.
4. Develop a positive team culture focused on sportsmanship, accountability, and academic success.
5. Ensure player safety and adherence to district, league, and MHSAA policies.
6. Teach proper stance, alignment, tackling, block destruction, pass-rushing techniques, gap responsibility, and run defense fundamentals.Assist in the implementation of defensive game plans and practice plans.
7. Maintains control of storage and use of school-owned property.
8. Maintains professional competence.
9. Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
