This is a First Shift Opportunity, Monday-Thursday (4 x10 hour shifts) 5:00am-3:30pm. This is an S5.
FUNCTION:
Assist supervisor, plan and perform part, fixture and tooling development work in support of turbine engine part welding. Work with process planning and tool support groups to provide tooling, control programs and related fixturing for tryout of new and changed parts and check for conformance to engineering specifications. Prepare graphic drawings, tables and program data to communicate requirements to others.
What You Will Do
Typical job duties include, but are not limited to:
Plan, layout and perform the work necessary to carry out complicated projects for welding of production and development turbine engine parts
Carry out checking and tryout operations for new control programs and associated tools
Work from advanced design drawings and specifications and consult with engineering to determine specifications and obtain change authorization to vary change design specifications
Instruct others in proper methods and procedures, verify that requirements have been completed in accordance with quality standards and complete records and communications as assigned
Devise and develop new tooling, welding and fabrication methods to meet special one-time applications and perform repair and customer assist work as assigned to support ongoing development of existing production programs and new product introduction
Perform similar duties to weld or fabricate production and development parts, assemblies and details and to assist in new process development work with engineering and others assigned to special projects where tooling and fixturing modifications are required
Maintain records and prepare drawings and special reports as required
Refer unusual problems to project leader or supervisor as appropriate
May be assigned to carry out tasks not specifically listed but within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and develop individual skills

Qualifications You Must Have

• Must have 2+ years Trades Training and 5+ years Manufacturing and Tooling Fabrication
• Work from complicated drawings, sketches, electronically transmitted programs, graphic design data and specification tables and use advanced shop mathematics including geometry and trigonometry
• Use precision measuring, testing and checking instruments and related equipment
• Requires specialized training in N/C programming, tool application and welding operation
