Key responsibilities

  • Prioritize user research, studies, and suitability evaluations in coordination with Program Management for PIs and sprints.

  • Deliver technical briefings and demonstrations to leadership, offering COAs and impact analysis.

  • Assist with technical roadmap for implementation and integration of efforts based on maturity and suitability of design.

Job description

Monte Sano Research Corporation (MSRC) is a Huntsville-based Small Business specializing in providing full-spectrum defense system engineering, research, design, development, integration, test, evaluation, and planning services to the U.S. Government.

As an ESOP company, our employee-owners are personally invested in the success of our customers, our programs, and one another. Our primary focus at MSRC is to provide extraordinary talent to propel the Warfighter, and we seek to hire people who are Elevated (always do the right thing), Exceptional (the very best at what they do), and Enduring (self-disciplined; self-motivated).

MSRC is seeking a highly skilled Experience Modernization Team (XMT) Product Owner (PO). The XMT is responsible for defining and delivering the NexGen Air and Missile Defense Product Solutions — operating at the intersection of user research, design, and mission context to ensure the right solutions are built, by grounding every product decision in a deep, holistic understanding of real warfighter needs. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical execution and program strategy, driving the suitability of experimental capabilities for implementation into the IBCS program.

The PO will be responsible for the prioritization and validation of efforts executed within a PI. The candidate must have a good understanding of engineering practices within Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), user research, and UX/UI design. Communicate with leadership when products are ready to push into the development process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize user research, studies, and suitability evaluations in coordination with Program Management for PIs and sprints.
  • Deliver technical briefings and demonstrations to leadership, offering COAs and impact analysis.
  • Assist with technical roadmap for implementation and integration of efforts based on maturity and suitability of design.
  • Serve as a bridge between PAE Fires stakeholders, Users, and the experience modernization team.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences or mathematics.
  • Advanced Degree preferred.

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years combined Government/DoW experience in performing the duties and responsibilities listed above.
  • Fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset.
  • Proficiency with the Atlassian toolset (Jira/Confluence) for backlog management and the Microsoft Office toolset for professional deliverables.
  • An additional plus is knowledge in IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS.
  • Prior Product Owner of a SW development SCRUM team is a plus.
  • Highly desirable if you have experience leading user centered design practices to include design of experiments, collection methods, and post analysis.

Additional Requirements:

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Candidate must currently possess and be able to maintain an active security clearance.

MSRC’s Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) practices are grounded in federal laws, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 (VEVRAA), and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA), among others. These laws prohibit discrimination in employment based on race, color, national origin, age, religion, sex, disability, marital status, veteran status, genetic information, and other protected characteristics.
