Job description

We are currently seeking a Licensing Engineer to support our Oak Ridge Location.

The Licensing Engineer will support engineering activities for emerging opportunities in the civil nuclear sector, with a focus on advanced nuclear technologies and future nuclear new-build programs. This role ensures all licensing activities align with NRC requirements, project schedules, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities / Duties

- Support development and execution of NRC licensing strategy and licensing basis

- Prepare regulatory submissions, including topical reports, white papers, and supporting documentation

- Coordinate and integrate technical inputs from engineering disciplines

- Ensure traceability of licensing positions to design and analytical evidence

- Support responses to NRC Requests for Additional Information (RAIs) and regulatory comments

- Maintain licensing documentation, trackers, and compliance records

- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders

- Contribute to NRC engagement activities and integrated licensing schedule updates

Basic Qualifications

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in nuclear licensing, regulatory affairs, or related technical field

- Experience supporting regulatory submissions in a highly regulated industry

- Strong technical writing and documentation skills

- Ability to coordinate cross-functional technical teams

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with NRC licensing processes and regulatory frameworks

- Prior experience supporting nuclear reactor design certification or approval

- Familiarity with advanced reactor programs

- Demonstrated experience responding to NRC RAIs

Education Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or related technical discipline required

OR

- Equivalent professional experience, including significant NRC licensing experience, may be considered in lieu of a degree
