AMS is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer with 10+ years of experience to serve as a technical leader in testing, evaluating, and troubleshooting advanced I&C systems. This role handles complex diagnostic challenges, supports system‑level evaluations, mentors junior engineers, and represents AMS in customer‑facing technical engagements.

Senior engineers at AMS play a pivotal role in improving equipment, methodologies, test procedures, and overall engineering quality across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Lead complex testing and troubleshooting of nuclear I&C and electrical systems
  • Oversee data acquisition, signal measurement, advanced diagnostics, and engineering evaluations
  • Serve as a primary technical expert during on‑site plant trips and customer interactions
  • Diagnose unexpected test results, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions
  • Support hardware development, prototype evaluation, equipment upgrades, and documentation updates
  • Drive quality assurance compliance and structured engineering processes
  • Produce high‑quality reports, evaluations, and customer‑facing technical documentation
  • Mentor junior engineers and guide technical development
  • Provide expertise during customer discussions, project planning, and engineering reviews
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and maintain strong customer rapport
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
  • 10+ years of professional engineering experience
  • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Deep hands‑on experience with instrumentation, controls, electrical systems, signal processing, hardware, or DAQ systems
  • Expertise using oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers, multimeters, signal generators, and DAQ tools
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while supporting complex engineering tasks
  • Willingness to travel (~25%)
  • U.S. citizenship required
Preferred
  • Experience in nuclear, defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or other regulated industries
