Job description


As an Advanced Software Engineer here at Honeywell, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge software solutions that support aerospace technologies and innovations. You will work on complex software projects that enhance the performance, safety, and reliability of aerospace systems.
You will report directly to our Senior R&D Manager, and you'll work out of our Plymouth, MN location on a Hybrid work schedule. External hires will begin with 90 days on site before transitioning to a 3/2 hybrid schedule.
In this role, you will impact the advancement of aerospace software systems that are critical to Honeywell's mission of delivering high-quality, innovative aerospace products and solutions to customers worldwide.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and test advanced software assurance techniques and tools for safety-critical systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems engineers, software application developers, and verification/validation engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Ensure software meets safety, quality, and performance standards specific to aerospace and defense industry requirements.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related field
• 5 + years experience, either through employment or academic research, in formal methods for software assurance
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Java, or Rust
WE VALUE
• Graduate degree (Masters or Doctorate) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related field
• Experience developing or implementing formal methods tools such as automated theorem provers or automated model checkers.
• Experience working on safety-critical software applications such as aerospace or medical devices.
• Knowledge of model-based design and simulation tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for innovation.
The annual range for this position is $126,000 - $157,000. Please note that this compensation information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
