One of our flagship contracts is with the Ministry of Defence at a major base near Watford - a complex, high-profile environment where we provide a full range of hard, soft, and technical FM services. 


We are currently looking for a SCIDA Officer , to join a team responsible for all compliance matters associated with the control of designs associated with all Information Communication Technology (ICT) in use and installed throughout the headquarters site. The SCIDA Officer provides the authority for those seeking advice for proposed installations along with assessments and approvals.


As the SCIDA Officer, you will:

  • Provide relevant site information and design guidance to clients, integrated project teams and project officers with regards to new ICT installations or changes to existing ICT installations
  • Assess designs submitted and issue design conformance certification
  • Monitor works during installation and make a final assessment of the completed task after all test results and as fitted documentation is complete ensuring alignment to the Engineering Change Request process (ECR) and published Ministry of Defence (MoD) standards.
  • Complete site inspections against an agreed program and highlight any non-compliance issues.
  • Be fully conversant with an assortment of standards and to be able to provide sound advice and guide others, as necessary.
  • Attend technical meetings as required with the Authority and other stakeholders to offer SCIDA related advice and guidance.


We are looking for:

  • We require applicants to have experience within a MoD ICT project role, thereby having acquired experience of military working environments. 
  • Applicants will be required to gain CIDA -  having obtained a Defence CIDA Installation Design Course certificate. 
  • Applicants will have a good working knowledge of JSP 453 and other documents called up within it.
  • Applicants should be aware the working hours for this role will be 40 hours per week over five days. 
  • Retention in the role is subject to successful acquisition of a security vetting clearance at developed vetting (DV).
  • Knowledge of CIS, ICT, electrical systems principles would be an advantage. 

This role requires a minimum level of security clearance and may also require a higher level of National Security Vetting. You should be aware that certain levels of clearance or specific projects and/or sites have UK residency requirements; and any dual or multiple nationalities must be declared. Any persons who do not fulfil this residency requirements may be unable to obtain the required level of clearance and would not be eligible to undertake this role.
