What is a deep foundation?

A Deep Foundation job involves constructing and installing foundation systems that transfer building loads deep into the ground, often beyond weaker surface soils. Workers in this field use techniques like pile driving, drilled shafts, and caissons to ensure stability for structures such as bridges, skyscrapers, and offshore platforms. These jobs require knowledge of soil mechanics, heavy equipment operation, and engineering principles. Deep foundation professionals play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and longevity of large infrastructure projects.

What types of projects does a deep foundation specialist typically work on, and what does a typical day look like?

Deep Foundation specialists often work on large-scale construction projects such as high-rise buildings, bridges, industrial facilities, and infrastructure developments where strong support is needed due to challenging soil conditions. A typical day involves conducting site assessments, overseeing or executing the installation of deep foundation elements, monitoring quality and safety standards, and collaborating with engineers, contractors, and site managers. You may also be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, reviewing project specifications, and ensuring all work complies with regulatory requirements. The role is a mix of on-site fieldwork and office-based coordination, offering variety and exposure to diverse engineering challenges.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the deep foundation position, and why are they important?

To excel in a Deep Foundation role, candidates need a solid background in civil or geotechnical engineering, construction management, or a related field, alongside practical experience with foundation systems such as piles and caissons. Familiarity with site investigation equipment, specialized construction machinery (e.g., drilling rigs, piling machines), and certifications like OSHA safety training are commonly required. Strong problem-solving skills, teamwork, and effective communication are vital soft skills for coordinating with design teams, contractors, and clients. These competencies are crucial for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant foundation construction on complex projects.

About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn't a buzzword - it's a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You're in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

The Experience
AI is only as intelligent as the data it can access. As a Data Foundation Account Executive, you sit at the epicenter of the most significant shift in enterprise tech: The Agentic Revolution. You aren't just selling software; you are architecting the Data Foundation that makes autonomous agents possible.
The Data Foundation is Salesforce's integrated solution combining MuleSoft (API-led connectivity and integration) and Informatica (enterprise data management, quality, and governance) - unified with Salesforce Data Cloud to create a single, trusted data layer for AI. Together, these capabilities eliminate the fragmented systems and data silos that hold enterprise AI back.
As a Data Foundation AE, you own both MuleSoft and Informatica as part of your portfolio. By unifying MuleSoft's connectivity, Informatica's data management depth, and Salesforce Data Cloud's scale, you empower CIOs to move past simple chatbots and deploy AI agents that actually act across the entire enterprise.
Why This Role?

  • The Prime Position: As a Data Foundation AE, you carry quota for both MuleSoft and Informatica - covering both products in full.

  • The Unfair Advantage: You'll sell the #1 priority for every 2026 C-suite executive: turning "static data" into "agentic action" - with a portfolio no competitor can match.

  • The Power Trio: You are at the center - bringing together MuleSoft for API-led integration and Informatica for deep data management and quality, while partnering with Data Cloud to deliver at scale. Together, you ensure customers bridge the "Data Gap" that holds AI back.

As a Data Foundation AE, you are the strategic lead for the foundational layer of the Salesforce ecosystem. You don't just sell connectivity or data management; you sell the integrated infrastructure - MuleSoft + Informatica - that makes modern enterprise intelligence possible.
What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • Own the Data Foundation Mandate: You carry quota for both MuleSoft and Informatica and are responsible for driving ACV across both products. Your primary objective is to position the Data Foundation as the essential layer for every AI initiative.

  • Lead "Data Foundation" Discovery: You will lead deep-dive sessions with CIOs and Data Architects to uncover the fragmented systems and data quality issues holding their AI back. You'll articulate how a MuleSoft + Informatica-led foundation is the only way to build a secure, future-proof AI roadmap.

  • Orchestrate the Ecosystem: You are the "quarterback." You commercially engage with both MuleSoft and Informatica, while partnering with technical specialists across each product to solve complex data gravity problems - ensuring the Data Foundation delivers as one unified solution.

  • Identify "AI-Ready" Whitespace: You will hunt for high-value use cases across both products. You'll show a CIO, Head of Operations, or CFO how MuleSoft's integration layer and Informatica's data management capabilities combine to automate workflows and prep the enterprise for an autonomous future.

  • Value-Based Outcomes: You'll spend your day translating technical connectivity and data management capabilities into high-level business ROI. You'll prove that without a robust Data Foundation - built on MuleSoft and Informatica - an enterprise's AI and Data investments cannot succeed.

You're Our Person If...

  • Sales Experience: 2+ years of full cycle sales experience, ideally with some exposure to SaaS or technology solutions

  • SMB Customer Focus: Experience working with small business owners or key decision-makers, with the ability to build trust quickly and guide customers through a more consultative buying process

  • Tech Solutions Aptitude: Familiarity with software, cloud, or platform solutions - you don't need to be a developer, but you're comfortable having conversations about technology and learning fast

  • Business Acumen: Ability to connect a customer's day-to-day challenges to tangible business outcomes like saving time, reducing costs, or growing revenue

  • Collaborative Mindset: Comfortable working across teams - you know when to loop in a specialist and how to keep a deal moving with multiple people involved

  • AI & Data Curiosity: A genuine interest in how AI tools are changing the way small businesses operate. You're excited to learn and share what's possible

  • Adaptability: You thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage a high volume of accounts, and can prioritize effectively without losing the personal touch

  • Experience Considered Holistically: We evaluate candidates based on the full picture - work experience, volunteer roles, military service, entrepreneurship, and other leadership experience all count

  • Location: Close proximity to office hub required; role is 4 days on-site per week

Unleash Your Potential

When you join Salesforce, you'll be limitless in all areas of your life. Our benefits and resources support you to find balance andbe your best, and our AI agents accelerate your impact so you cando your best. Together, we'll bring the power of Agentforce to organizations of all sizes and deliver amazing experiences that customers love.
