  • Candidates must be ABR-eligible or ABR-certified, have completed a diagnostic radiology residency, and be eligible for medical licensure in the State of North Carolina.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsibilities include all aspects of diagnostic and interventional breast radiology, including screening and diagnostic mammography, tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, stereotactic biopsy, ultrasound-guided biopsy, MRI-guided biopsy, and image-guided wire and seed localization procedures.
  • If not already proficient, candidates must be willing to learn new state-of-the-art breast imaging modalities, including contrast-enhanced mammography, ultra-fast breast MRI, abbreviated MRI (Ab-MRI), and other technologies as they come online.
  • Coverage of breast imaging, as it expands into evening and weekend service.
  • No general radiology coverage is required, unless desired by the applicant.
  • No academic, research, or teaching responsibilities are required, unless desired by the applicant.

Highlights:
  • Work at a state-of-the-art breast center in Wake County, including outpatient breast centers, Duke Raleigh Hospital, and the anticipated opening of Duke Health Cary Hospital
  • Flexible work options with at-home breast imaging workstations.
  • Comprehensive breast imaging services at a flagship breast imaging center, featuring dedicated breast sonographers, Savi Scout® needle localization, and skilled breast health navigators.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board conferences with breast surgeons and oncologists at Duke University Hospital.
  • Access to Breast Division academic conferences, including monthly journal clubs, case conferences, departmental grand rounds, M&M sessions, lectures, and other educational series.
  • Standardized protocols, resources, and equipment across all academic and community locations, ensuring high-quality imaging throughout the community.
  • Integrated Epic and Visage PACS, with all breast imaging modalities displayed on a single unified platform, supported by high-level 24/7 IT assistance.
  • Leadership roles and additional professional development opportunities are available, tailored to the applicant's interests, goals, and experience
