About the role: As a Decontamination Technician you will Perform housekeeping / decontamination activities in all Radiological Control Areas. Operate various test equipment and machines as needed to perform duties such as high-pressure washers, laundry machines, RP meters, etc... Due to the broad diversity of work activities in the classification, most employees may be required to certify to all Decon specific tasks as directed by the Radiation Protection department.

You will report to the site coordinator and be located at your assigned plant in Waterford, CT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Climb ladders and work at multiple heights
  • Meet all applicable requirements to maintain unescorted access
  • Lift 50 pounds
  • Complete training / certification to operate different equipment including:
    • High pressure sprayers
    • Vacuums
    • Small pendant cranes
    • Hoist
    • Miscellaneous equipment
  • Understand oral and written communications, technical requirements, procedures and directives associated with working at a nuclear plant.
  • May require a respirator physical and training
  • Work in adverse conditions such as high temperatures, confined spaces.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
  • Pass a drug test
  • Pass a security background
