The ideal candidate has direct plastic injection molding experience, understands how to balance production demands with people leadership, and is comfortable working alongside employees to resolve issues and improve results. Experience with PVC injection molding is strongly preferred.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the daily operations of the injection molding department during second shift.

  • Ensure required process checks, production documentation, and quality inspections are completed accurately and on time.
  • Identify and resolve production, quality, staffing, and equipment-related issues.
  • Partner with Maintenance to coordinate preventive maintenance, machine repairs, mold changes, and equipment improvements.

  • Use production data and visual-management tools to communicate priorities and track department performance.
  • Conduct routine machine, process, housekeeping, and safety audits.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, operating procedures, quality standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and ensure employees consistently follow required safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Support job-safety analyses, lockout/tagout requirements, machine guarding, and other plant safety programs.
  • Participate in safety meetings and help implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare production reports and maintain required department records.
  • Communicate regularly with management and other departments regarding production status, staffing, equipment, quality, and operational concerns.
  • Complete company forklift training and assist with material movement when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Direct experience working with plastic injection molding processes and equipment is required.
  • PVC injection molding experience is strongly preferred.
  • Two to four years of manufacturing experience required.
  • One to three years of experience leading, supervising, or managing employees required.

  • Ability to identify production issues, determine root causes, and implement practical solutions.
