Job description

Description

This is a detail oriented, fast paced position requiring basic decision making skills pertaining to inspection of produced parts for conformity. Employee must be able to move to each press producing parts and validate each part expeditiously. The inspector is responsible for the documentation of information into the database and verification of conformance of parts to the customer. The QA Line Inspector Performs several dimensional tests as required. The QA Line Inspector may serve as a final audit inspector or in-process auditor.

Responsibilities and Duties

Visual verification of each part produced along with press and material audits to JDS standards.

Keeps an accurate record of conforming, non-conforming and scrap percentages using Microsoft Access and provided forms.

Communicate scrap rates to management and operators

Work within an ISO 9001 TS 16949:2009, API Q1-2376 and API QR-2499 operating environment

Presents any possible problem to floor supervisor or process engineer. Uses basic email skills to alert supervisors of any potential problems that require attention at any press.

Measure or use a test fixture to verify dimensions of parts

Measure prep with calipers to verify dimensions are correct.

Doc Audits.

Shipping Audits.

Final inspections of Kits.

Lip Seal Final Audits.

Any task assigned by Quality Supervisor.

Requirements

Minimum High School Diploma or GED

Computer skills required. MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Experience in Rubber injection/compression molding and extrusion are a plus

Physical requirements

Work performed in a factory setting

Regularly lifts and/or move up to 40 lbs and occasionally must lift and/or move up to 50 lbs

Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, crouch and walk about the production facility.

Regularly required to use their hands and fingers to feel objects that may be hot'
